Growth in Birmingham’s population will result in 1.2 million additional daily trips across our highways network by 2031, accommodating all these trips by private car is simply not sustainable theguardian.com/environment/20… #Birmingham

@HasanHussain777 @RobertJenrick The Guardian: Jenrick had only 24 hours to have the development approved before new council community charges were imposed that would have cost about £45m He rushed through the case to avoid the new rules. What’s wrong with that? We got a good social housing project as a result

Sadiq Khan is driving a proud city into the ground. Lawbreaking is out of control. He's not acting. So, I did.👇

@Peymasad @RobertJenrick It’s unconventional, sure, but there’s nothing wrong with an MP highlighting an issue. He is doing his job. Perhaps other MPs should follow…

@RobertJenrick This is really odd behaviour from an MP. Are you the police? A journalist? So you want the Mayor to personally go chase lawbreakers? What an odd thing to say.

@sgfmann What happened to a normal front page? Is this a magazine now? And is that really the main story to focus on?

@StefanFerrol @RMcGreevy1301 That's the point, millions of websites can and do do this. That's why a newspaper front page is so special. It's a decision about one photo, one story, that millions of other print copies will all carry - all landing on doorsteps across the country within hours of being written.

@RMcGreevy1301 Every website could do this and if they wanted event make individual people clickable to find out details about attendees + you could get better colours

There are things that a printed newspaper can do that no website could ever do. This is magnificent.

@oshiimid @RMcGreevy1301 But the people who will read it in print in the ST will have more influential positions and power than all the online viewers put together... And the original poster is not making a point about reach anyway, the point is about the impact and feeling of print.

And yet you are posting it on digital social media. You do see the irony of your post, right? That page in The Sunday Times of London will be read by only a miniscule fragment of those who will see it here. A paper that is a potted Fern lost in the Edwardian wilderness weeping in agony that the Sun has set on the Empire.

@Matthew36972140 People are very unhappy with the sports section and the removal of details such as player listings... Much of the design is the same, I imagine more will be changing in due course.

@_PaulHayward @haxbybantam This is misguided. The people who still buy print papers want this detail. I've lost count of how many comments I've seen bemoaning this change...

@haxbybantam Hello Richard, newspapers are adjusting to the reality that you will know all that the previous day from your phone etc. The challenge now is not to replicate but provide something different.

The Observer has relaunched today under new ownership, staying true to its heritage. Includes 20 pages of sport as well as a special London Marathon supplement. Have a look. @ObserverUK
