Second gen East Asian shitlibs are always desperately battling the fact they're at the bottom of the racial oppression leaderboard. They’re not white but they know that hasn’t really disadvantaged them in any tangible way and they’ll never forgive society for it. Further, their entire existence disrupts the foundational shitlib belief that the world can neatly be divided into white (not oppressed) and not-white (oppressed). They understand this and HATE it. Their parents busted their ass to give them everything and they’re normally quite well off. They do well in school and in the workplace. They’re underrepresented in every “negative” metric (prison population, homelessness, crime, etc). They come from cultures that are trendy and well-liked. And they can’t really run around claiming they’re being denied opportunities or housing or facing rampant discrimination because of their race. For any other person, these would be good things. But for a shitlib who happens to be a “minority” this is terrible because it means they have none of the social currency they actually want. So the second gen East Asian shitlib is reduced to doing absurd stuff like this… Smugly “side eyeing” white people innocently pursuing the ramen or tteokbokki section at HMart and making up fantasy racisms they surely must be committing. Or, worse, telling those bullshit teary-eyed stories about mean white kids bullying them in the school cafeteria over their bento boxes or dumplings or some shit. (Entire careers and book deals have been launched off of this. It’s so goddamn annoying!!!!) Pantomiming oppression and inventing an “otherness” that doesn’t exist in hopes they’ll be gifted that “minority” social currency they so desperately want.
