Today, during the Parliamentary Question and Answer session, I asked the Leader of Government Business about the Government’s plans to address the grievances of nurses in public hospitals. Here is the response, what are your views?
@PeterMupondi Majoki aya but what she doesn't know is emergency haipe notice. These characters can never vote on our behalf. Parties especially Zanupf do not do deligence check when selecting candidates. Look at her and the Maveteras, it's just kongonya pple.
She said "hazvinei newe" (its non of your business) in Parliament when Honourable Makumire asked about the welfare nurses who have been protesting for high cost of living.
Imagine they want to extend their term 😭
@Luther_Hove Vanhu vanokangamwa kuti kuna Mwari kudenga. Ko kumbopawo mukana kuvazukuru wokutamba nasekuru after 48 years vari VIP. As Zimbabweans, we also envy to have a retired statesman.
@Normara23@ekayzee_@MurapaG That amendment had the effect of lengthening the time the incumbent stayed in the office and it was ruled that extending the term in office does not touch term limit provisions. So in that same logic no term limits will be touched when CAB increases a term from 5 to 7 years
Sorry to take you back a bit. How are they planning to overcome that clause which states that changes to the Constitution cannot benefit the incumbent?
@Reginaldmakune1@ekayzee_@MurapaG Court said:
“This is not extending a term of office, it’s jst changing retirement rules.”
Section prohibits extension of a “term of office”
Judges dont serve a fixed term but until reaching retirement age.
There4
Changing e retirement age is not e same as extending term of office
@ekayzee_@MurapaG We are all in agreement. Except that the definition in the constitution was challenged in the Mapungu Vs Minister of justice when Mapungu wanted to use the definitions in the constitution and the courts clearly said a term limit cannot be the same as a term length.
So, Parliamentarians whose living expenses are covered by government perks, who are exempt from toll fees, and who have access to exclusive, dedicated health facilities and free fuel coupons, will be asked to decide whether they still want to benefit for another 2 years or not?
@TendaiChirau How do we get to talk of minority or majority nhai Cde? Consultations should not be about slogans but hearing what pple say regarding each of the amendments. Zanupf needs to evolve with time and shun this ancient way of doing things.
The voice of the people is the voice of God. The minority is subordinate to the majority that’s the basic principle of democracy. This was a gathering of masses in support of Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 in Mabvuku Tafara .
Today, I presided over the 391st Ordinary Session of the ZANU (PF) Politburo at Party Headquarters in Harare, highlighting that as we approach the 46th Independence Day Celebrations in Maphisa, unity of purpose is crucial for our socio-economic development and a prerequisite for achieving Vision 2030. I commended the National Chairman for initiatives that strengthen our structures and reaffirmed the Party's unwavering supremacy over the Government. I welcomed the positive results in the agricultural sector and the highly successful harvest, noting that the Government had approved a review of licenses, permits, and levies in key agricultural sub-sectors to promote ease of doing business.
In line with the 22nd National People’s Conference resolutions, I directed that our rich mineral resources be value-added and beneficiated locally for maximum benefit to our people. I hailed the implementation of a performance-based human resource system in Government and urged the Politburo to take a keen interest in public health institutions to ensure the wellness of our citizens.
We are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and have implemented measures to ensure energy security and the supply of essential commodities, with diplomatic efforts underway for Zimbabwe’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028. I challenged all Politburo members to remain focused, committed, and result-oriented to improve the livelihoods of our people. #ZimAt46#UnityAndDevelopment#Vision2030#NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo#ZANUPF
@shumbakadzi_zim@enkudheni@matinyarare Let us not look at the individual but critique his submissions. If he says ED has failed to finish B/Bridge in his two terms, we just bring facts to the contrary. VIC Falls and Norton road duallisation etc and now the dire public hospital situation.
We have a serious problem as a country. While some of us are distracted by debates around the Bill, there is a bigger threat quietly unfolding beneath our feet.
By his own admission, @matinyarare claims links to the CIA and together with his boss Simon Rudland, they are actively working to derail Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, sabotage Vision 2030, and push an agenda that has nothing to do with Zimbabwean interests.
Let’s call this what it is: foreign interference disguised as activism. Their goal is clear, destabilize national progress and open the door for outside influence, with Rudland positioned as a convenient puppet for the West.
Zimbabweans can debate policies, disagree politically, and challenge leadership - that’s democracy. But what we will NEVER accept is being used as a playground for foreign agendas or reduced to a colony again.
@BaShonaBaShona@enkudheni We know some want this CAB3 whilst some do not want it. This is the reason why others and myself are calling for a referendum to put this issue at rest. We don't even have to discuss about which law or what. If the house is divided, then voting is the way... Simple!
Hee, you don't have followers. Hee, people don't want Bill Number 3. Ingoti ndiwe usingaide, you are not a spokesperson for 16 million people plus. X is not Zimbabwe. Let's listen to our dear brother and Cde Hon. Scott Sakupwanya engaging with the grassroots.
@zandatoto@Cleezy_clyv@edmnangagwa Baba Two can still save his legacy. 46 years is no joke and leaving in 2028 would prove his appreciation to Mother Zimbabwe. A good dancer should know when to leave the stage.
President @edmnangagwa, you have served in government for 46 years, with two more years remaining on your current mandate. Why do you seek to extend your tenure beyond what the people gave you?
A constitutional term is not a suggestion; it is a contract with citizens. Amending it without returning to the people deepens division and erodes trust in both Parliament and government.
Do not be selfish. Help build a culture that respects term limits, where leadership is accountable, and ensures predictable transitions. Ushe madzoro.

Yesterday, I was threatened for having insulted the President by saying that his performance in office has been mediocre for us to grant him a term extension. But how would you rate the President if:
1. Under Robert Mugabe, in his first 20 years in office, he built 9,000 km of new paved roads from the 10,000 km left by Ian Smith.
2. Currently, President Mnangagwa has, in the last 9 years, paved and rebuilt 80% of the existing 584 km of the Harare–Beitbridge road, and it is still not finished.
3. He has also been refurbishing and extending 45 km of the Mazowe Road. I would say that the 45km are entirely new.
4. He has also built about 90 km of road in and around Mount Hampden and has been refurbishing about 300 km in cities and Victoria Falls road.
5. This means that, in 9 years, the President has refurbished and built about 1,200 km (6.3%) of roads out of the 19,000 km of paved roads in Zimbabwe, which are in desperate disrepair.
6. The money required to fix all Zimbabwean roads, at an average of about $1 million per kilometre, is approximately $17.4 billion. Where will it come from?
Is the President’s performance on roads and raising money to fix them: excellent, good, average, bad, or poor?
How many more roads can he fix between now and 2030 at the current pace of 130km per year and the perpetual electioneering for 2030 that has stopped all real work?
Tomorrow we will look at healthcare, water, sanitation, electricity and other indicators.
While nurses and doctors are on strike over low wages in a poorly managed economy leaving Zimbabweans' patience at risk of death, the govt is busy with the CAB3 to extend the term of an outgoing 87-year-old illegally. Is power more important than lives?
@zimlive Chokwadi haungati wakatadza pa10 years wozotarisira miracle pa 2 years. Just go back to your 100 days plan Team Zvigananda and evaluate your performance.
📹 ‘They want to extend the term by 2 years to fix things they failed to do in 10 years. If a child cannot write their name from Grade 1 to Form 3, you can’t expect that child to write their name in Form 4 exam. They can’t fix anything in these 2 years, they just want to benefit’
