@osucowboytc Many people's default is knowing politicians lie and pretend to care when they don't. It's wrong and I hate it (I'd never make it in politics), but most people around the world recognize it to be so. But what Trump and Vance did was a shock for many in their own camp.

@NorthwesternGOP The fact that he has continued to spew hateful, racist rhetoric means that he shows no regard for the well-being of my family or many others like them. That should've been enough for Christians. Or maybe his exploitation and demeaning of women.

Or maybe this is Christians saying they won't listen to far right pundits anymore and refuse to vote against their convictions. Maybe they are being salt and light by showing both parties that they won't put up with being told they have to choose the lesser of two evils.

There are 37,000 priests and 6.7 million public school employees. That makes the rate higher for Catholic priests.

Yes, "girl power" was supposed to be a cute pat on the head, was taken seriously, and has led to countless magical-thinking delusions that ruin women's lives, like when they go backpacking in a 3rd world country alone and get their heads cut off within 3 days. As it turns out, uncivilized people don't believe in girl power so much. This statue was placed in front of the NYC stock trading bull statue as a testament to women's collective delusions that they possess a magical trait that will protect them from dangers such as a charging animal, who has not seen Sex and the City and would never 'get it.' Please take a moment. Really let this sink in. We live among at least 2 generations of women who see this statue and think "Yeah! My magical girlness would stop a bull too! My passive existence and bad attitude obligates nature to behave as I wish!" And no one is watching them! Not only that, they're making decisions about immigration and foreign policy!

If you're not a Christian it would be unfair then to target those with lower misbehavior. But I, being one, hold them to a higher standard, and think we need to stoke the fires.

@OriginalRizzler @Provokethoughtz I agree it is way too high (and you missed the fact that sadly the Papal States no longer exist and secular rulers don't enforce moral laws), but statistically it is at lower rates than abuse by teachers, doctors, psychologists, and authority members in other congregations.

@OriginalRizzler @Provokethoughtz Pope Pius V declared pedophilia a capital crime. What is lacking is enforcement by secular authorities. It was in fact the US Supreme Court that banned the death penalty as a punishment: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennedy_v… And that's for children. 1977 for a 16-year old "adult."

It was only the US Supreme Court that said capital punishment was "too cruel" for rapists, while making abortion legal... so I would say that Christians aren't rapists par excellence. Do you want to share some stats or something?

@merabuki @Provokethoughtz The first two examples of rape mentioned in the bible (that of one of the daughters of Jacob and of Absalom's sister) were met with violent retribution which the Bible does not condemn. Also taught that strength is meant to protect others and women should be treated with respect.
