Not Dead Yet

So, July 2020, ambulanced into hospital with chronic pneumonia. During 2 weeks exemplary NHS treatment, diagnosed S4 LC. Bum! Currently undergoing chemo & immuno, thought I'd tweet about it. Might be interesting!

American privatisation of the NHS continues : GP's telephone calling system in a broad American accent "you are 3rd in the queue to talk to one of our representatives....." all other options are English though? 🤣😂

My chemo experience last week wasn’t pleasant for either me or my team. Have felt awful since Thursday and depressed. This morning I woke up feeling so much better and I’m raring to go. So relieved. Thought I was losing it.

@NotDead95593535 Done - not looking forward to the next 7-10 days but thankful I have been able to have it . Getting to the stage already where the veins are proving difficult.

@suzanneburkill Should make a big difference to daily comfort, instead of waiting >1wk to drain 2litres, do a bit every few days. 😁👍

Well, positivity seems to be oozing through the notdeadyet household now that the rocket drain is fitted 🚀 hope it lives up to the hype! Drain it a couple of times a week (fab #districtnurses) which should have enormous knockon benefits for me. 👍😁🚀

What a night! Lots of soul-searching before calling out the Paramedics at 3am. Wonderful people, was frantically short of breath, no probs, "call us first". Calmed me down, relaxed me, some treatment, lots of explanation, all helps........ 1

@hazy121 Today was just as outpatient, she was allowed in for chat stage to start, but then left for the nitty gritty. Then came back to collect me. Back home now, no hospital stay. Generally quite impressed with our hozzy. ❤️👍 She's not allowed into sensitive areas eg chemo!

@NadiaGilchrist1 It can be petrifying, is she getting the support she needs? ❤️👍 I couldn't have coped, you don't have to be on your own! ❤️
