The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
In July, the Church will open 55 new missions to accommodate a growing number of missionaries already called. The addition will bring the total number of missions to 506 and allow missionaries to better support the growing number of congregations worldwide. “What we are witnessing today is more than growth in numbers,” Elder Dale G. Renlund (@DaleGRenlund) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said in a May 2026 social post. “Across the world, missionaries are demonstrating a deep devotion to the Savior and a sincere consecration to His work. An increasing number express that their fundamental reason for serving is their love for Jesus Christ and their desire to join Him in His work — an inspiring reflection of the faith and commitment that characterize today’s missionary force. “As the work goes forward, this is indeed a joyous and marvelous work and a wonder.” Learn more on Church Newsroom. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/church…

In recent months, we’ve seen remarkable growth in the number of missionary applications and in the creation of new missions around the world. Many wonder why this is happening now when it contrasts with trends that suggest that the rising generation is less engaged in religiosity. Several factors are probably operative, including some intentional changes the Church has made over the past several years for children and youth. One of the most important is focusing bishoprics more intensively on the rising generation, specifically on the young men and young women. Another is that the For the Strength of Youth Conferences are more readily available. These are spiritual experiences for so many and spur interest in sharing the joy of the gospel. Finally, more families are engaging in earlier scriptures study, especially with the aid of Come, Follow Me curriculum. This has altered Sunday worship practices. As more young women choose to serve as sister missionaries, there seems to be a leavening effect. They affect the work with members, they affect how young elders serve, and they have a significant impact in their missions. And importantly, young women and young men learn to work in counsel with each other. I believe this will have a major impact on the work of salvation and exaltation as these missionaries return home and already know how to work and function in councils in ward and stake settings. What we are witnessing today is more than growth in numbers. Across the world, missionaries are demonstrating a deep devotion to the Savior and a sincere consecration to His work. An increasing number express that their fundamental reason for serving is their love for Jesus Christ and their desire to join Him in His work—an inspiring reflection of the faith and commitment that characterize today’s missionary force. As the work goes forward, this is indeed a joyous and marvelous work and a wonder.

I just finished an interview with Brad from Across Nigeria… and honestly, I’m sitting here stunned. Today, he buried 14 Christians in a mass grave. Two were infants. One was a 4-year-old child. And this isn’t some recycled internet story or political talking point. Brad was literally there today helping bury them. While on the way to investigate one attack, another Christian community was attacked. He said the violence is happening so fast they can barely keep up anymore. What shocked me even more is this: Brad shared that 72% of all Christians killed worldwide last year were killed in this region of Nigeria. 72%. And hardly anybody is talking about it. The mainstream media should be all over this. Instead, most people scrolling social media today have no idea our brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered while churches are being forced underground. Guys… this matters. Please watch this interview. Please pray for these families. And PLEASE share this everywhere you can. At this point, WE are the media. WE are how people find out. WE are the distribution network. If enough ordinary people start sharing the truth, eventually the world will have to pay attention. Watch the full conversation and help us get this story out.

Today, my counselors in the First Presidency and I were grateful for the opportunity to visit the Salt Lake Temple, which has been undergoing a significant renovation since 2020.   We look forward to welcoming people from throughout the world during the Salt Lake Temple Celebration and open house, to be held from April through October 2027.   Above all, we look forward to teaching about the sacred purposes of temples throughout the world. In the temple, faithful men and women receive divine instruction, sacred responsibilities, and spiritual power.   It is in the temple that eternal covenants are made that bind us and our families to our Heavenly Father and to one another for eternity.

I invite you to take a screenshot of this word cloud and additional graphics summarizing our discussion during the worldwide devotional for young adults. These principles of the gospel, alongside practical applications of gospel living, demonstrate that Jesus Christ and His Atonement live at the center of our effort to deepen conversion. Please reserve some quiet time within the next week to prayerfully consider these precepts with others that will come to your mind, that will lead to deepening your conversion and lifelong discipleship to Jesus Christ.

The scaffolding on the Salt Lake Temple helped restore the temple to its original beauty with more strength. It was there to help protect the House of the Lord—evidence of love and care for something sacred.   In our lives, the Lord offers scaffolding as well. Parents, good friends, teachers, leaders, commandments, covenants, and even seasons of correction and stretching—they are there to help us gain better access to the light and life that will bring us back to our heavenly home and safely reach our eternal destination.   We rejoice in Jesus Christ because He is the master builder. His grace is sufficient to refine, restore, repair, rebuild and bless your life now and forever.

This woman shares a vulnerable experience she had at a Costco parking lot. 💔 I waited for this man to load his truck. We chatted, and with the biggest smile, he told me he has terminal lung cancer — less than a month left. His wife just passed. No family here. I asked if I could hug him… we hugged for two full minutes in the parking lot. He said: ‘Every day won’t always be a good day, but it’s never a bad life.’ Be patient. Talk to strangers. You never know what someone’s carrying. Cherish this life. 🥹

“If prayer is only a spasmodic cry at the time of crisis, then it is utterly selfish, and we come to think of God as a repairman or a service agency to help us only in our emergencies. We should remember the Most High day and night – always – not only at times when all other assistance has failed and we desperately need help. If there is any element in human life on which we have a record of miraculous success and inestimable worth to the human soul, it is prayerful, reverential, devout communication with our Heavenly Father.” Howard W. “Watch your rhetoric and be calm. Be considerate. Be thoughtful as you consider the ideas, the ideologies, the positions of others. Come close and understand them. Approximately eight months ago, a horrifying attack took place during a Sunday sacrament meeting in the Grand Blanc Ward in Michigan. The following Tuesday morning, Susan and I were in Michigan to learn from and minister to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and others involved in this tragic event. What we saw, what we felt, the friends we made, and the faith in Jesus Christ we witnessed were life-changing for us. For my remarks at BYU Women’s Conference, I invited members of the Grand Blanc Ward to share with me lessons they had learned from this terrifying experience. Please notice the use of the words “light,” “glory,” and “darkness” in their reflections. What lessons can we learn from the Michigan Latter-day Saints about “rising up” (as quoted in the slides with permission) after a devastating experience? An eternal perspective grounded in the Father’s plan of happiness matters. Acknowledging we absolutely can never “rise up” without the power and blessings of the Savior’s Atonement matters. Covenants received worthily and faithfully honored matter. Spiritual priorities grounded in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ matter. Consistency in learning, doing, and loving small and simple spiritual things matters—all the time and everywhere.

I detest feminism but I love comedy. Most funny comics (comic actors and comedians) are men, and I think the best ones are men. But if you expand the category to include comedic actresses suddenly you will find a lot more. In honor of these funny women, here are some of my favorite funniest women, in no particular order: A. Lucille Ball B. Tina Fay C. Amy Poehler D. Carol Burnett E. Kristen Wig F. Maria Bamford G. Betty White H. Kate McKinnon I. Molly Shannon J. Tracey Ullman K. Jane Curtin L. Gilda Radner M. Julie Louis-Dreyfus N. Jan Hooks O. Victoria Jackson P. Julie Sweeney Q. Sioban Fallon Hogan R. Ana Gasetyer S. Maya Rudolph T. Ego Nwodim U. Melissa McCarthy V. Lisa Kudrow

Dostoevsky's Heart aka A Well In Zion @NotWellInZion This is brilliant. You can disagree with the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, but do it with consistency. Don't lie to yourself and don't lie to others to prove your point. If you have the truth, then there is no need to lie or create straw men.
