@HarryPlendl @IowaFirstMedia Town hall meetings doesn’t refer to location but to the format/opportunity for politicians to meet with constituents & for the constituents/voters to ask questions of politicians -a Q& A exchange.

DES MOINES, Iowa — In a move to dodge accountability, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand is now banning live-streaming and video recording at his public town halls after leaked videos exposed his controlled guest policy. Republicans, with even distant past campaign ties, even those long out of politics, are reportedly being turned away, only to capture the rejections on their own devices and sharing them anyway. Kollin Crompton on X (Twitter) was the first to release this information after posting the initial image of the No Recording Signs that are now being held at Rob Sand town hall events. Amid the discriminatory public rejection videos, the Sand Campaign has used every social media platform to emphasize that “all are welcome,” even “Republicans,” but many individuals are not rejecting the evidence of their eyes and ears to believe this rhetoric. Sand polishes his image as the “governor for all” Iowans, as he claims to accept everyone with open arms. It turns out that the openness stops the moment someone might ask tough questions or represent the wrong political history. This heavy-handed crackdown on public access reeks of desperation from a candidate who can’t handle real dissent in his events. By restricting ordinary Iowans from recording what should be open forums, Sand is essentially admitting that he prefers a controlled narrative over genuine transparency. While he preaches unity and inclusivity, his actions reveal a different story, where former opponents are unwelcome, and the public’s right to see and share the truth gets shut down. Iowans deserve better than a politician who hides behind bans instead of facing voters openly. Follow: @IowaFirstMedia

Hello @ElonMusk. This is how you are perceived. Not too late to course correct but it’s getting pretty late. You certainly have the extra money on hand to really help the people of the world instead of the hellbent road of chaos and destruction you are ludicrously barreling down. Put down the Ket straw. 🤪

Displayed at CPAC, the Third Term Project is a group pushing for an amendment allowing Trump to run for a third term. Andy Ogles’ (R-TN) proposal is to alter the 22nd Amendment to allow individuals to serve up to three nonconsecutive terms. Imagine the shape he’ll be in by 2028?

The Heritage Foundation — the same think tank that wrote Project 2025 — just published a report arguing that competitive women's sports should be scaled back and replaced with "group fitness classes, dance, yoga, recreational intramurals, hiking clubs, and the like." Their stated reason? Fertility. They argue elite women's athletics make women less interested in having children. The masks are off. Watch: youtu.be/EmAvUDFSk4g

@BillyFuerst Ashley Hinson voted for the BBB which resulted in billions of healthcare related $$ being reduced or cut. Later, GOP renamed it & funded comparatively little ( $209 million to Iowa) hoping Iowans forgot about the BBB cuts. It’s a shell game for midterms. Quit duping Iowans.

There’s only one candidate in this race who delivered $50 billion for rural healthcare in Iowa and nationwide — and that’s Ashley Hinson. Josh Turek? He skipped votes to expand access to quality healthcare in rural Iowa and to fully fund the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs.

Way, way too many people on the left and the right target @AIPAC or Netanyahu for their criticism to cover up their real hatred of Israel and Jews. For way too many, criticizing Bibi is just cover for their antisemitism. I mean antisemitism has been dramatically rising in the West since October 7th. How sick is that? How wrong is that? Our closest ally is attacked by a terrorist death cult, and immediately antisemitism in the West takes off?

Iowa AG Brenna Bird, who's up for reelection, tweeted yesterday about the importance of judicial impartiality. Remember when she skipped work on a Monday to fly to NYC, stand behind Trump at his criminal trial, and held a press conference calling it a "sham and a scam"?

@LahnHQ @ZachLahn Lahn ran bc AFP failed in the Brownback Kansas Experiment. He worked behind the scenes wooing Kansas wealthy but failed. Lahn’s too tainted in Kansas politics, Iowa has to be AFP’s next white hope experiment.

@marceelias Iowa SOS also claims this “The Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994 permits the sharing of certain driver's license data between government agencies. Federal law is supreme over Iowa’s limitation on the release of voter” Has this been used/overturned in other cases?
