Your Body Is Not Lying To You: What Every woman Should Know About Endometriosis: “March is Endometriosis Awareness Month” You know that friend who says her period pain is so bad she can’t get out of bed and everyone just tells her to take Panadol and push through? There’s a chance she has endometriosis. There’s a chance you do too. Let’s talk about it properly. So what actually is endometriosis? Every month, the lining inside your uterus builds up and then sheds , that’s your period. Simple enough, but with endometriosis, tissue similar to that lining starts growing in places it has absolutely no business being outside the uterus, on the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, sometimes even the bowel or bladder. And when your period comes, that tissue behaves the same way: it tries to shed. Except it has nowhere to go. So it just… stays there. Building up. Causing inflammation, pain, and scarring over time. That’s endometriosis and it affects roughly 1 in 10 women and girls. What does it feel like? This is where it gets important, because a lot of girls are told their pain is normal when it isn’t. Signs to pay attention to: - Period cramps so severe they interrupt your day school, sleep, everything - Pain during or after sex - Pain when using the toilet during your period - Heavy, heavy bleeding soaking through pads quickly, passing large clots - Bloating so bad it looks and feels like your stomach has swollen - Fatigue that goes beyond just “tired” - Pain that isn’t only during your period, it can be there all month The tricky part? Endometriosis doesn’t show up on a regular scan or blood test. It hides. Which is partly why the average person waits 7 to 10 years before getting a proper diagnosis. That’s years of being told “it’s just bad cramps” or “some people just have painful periods.” Is it curable? Not yet. But it is manageable and that distinction matters. With the right diagnosis and care, many people with endometriosis live full, active lives. Treatment options include hormonal therapy, pain management, surgery to remove the tissue, and lifestyle changes that reduce inflammation. None of these are one-size-fits-all, which is why finding a doctor who actually listens is so important. What should you do if this sounds familiar? Start by tracking your symptoms. Write down when the pain happens, how bad it is on a scale of 1–10, and how it affects your daily life. This information is powerful when you walk into a doctor’s office. Then say this clearly: “My pain is affecting my quality of life and I want to be taken seriously.” You are allowed to advocate for yourself. You are allowed to ask for a referral to a gynaecologist. You are allowed to push back if someone dismisses you. Your body is telling you something. Listen to it and find someone who will too. Endometriosis Awareness Month is every March. Share this. Someone in your life needs to read it. #Endometriosis

We don’t speak enough about generational patterns. You don’t even know when you’re neck deep in a pattern until it’s too late. I had to fight it . fight giving up my career for marriage, fight early pregnancy, fight choosing a man over my self . Same age , same pattern…..but I broke it .

Tope olowoni ; How was motherhood for you ? Bisola ; i was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and had a baby out of wedlock and I thought I was going to get to get married cause I was engaged at that time. Knowing my mum was a single mum and I am about to become one, I feared my child will also have the same faith.

Read this notice guys, I don’t even know what to say. It reads “urgent safety notice” and it’s a write up to women to stay indoors cos men will try to rape them cos of traditional rites This is what they choose to focus on, not on the men who are carrying out these atrocities. You have a tradition that gives room for sexual abuse and Rape and instead of going after the men still upholding these barbaric culture, you instead pull up a notice advising the women to stay indoors??? What madness is this?

Delta state is one of the states ravaging with insecurity, instead of mobilizing for vigilante….their youths managed to dedicate a whole 2days for raping and harassing women in the name of Ozoro festival. Everything is just wrong with this country and the citizens !!

It’s funny how modern men want a woman who’s independent—but not too independent. Educated—but not too opinionated. Working—but still serving. Bold—but never challenging. Beautiful—but never “too much.” They want all the upgrades of 2026... with the obedience of 1950.
