Thanks for raising this. =COPILOT is still in Frontier/Beta, and we’re actively refining the experience based on feedback like this.
Today, =COPILOT doesn’t pass spreadsheet context into the LLM call. To reference cells, use explicit syntax like =COPILOT("sum these numbers", A1:A3).
It’s important to note though that LLMs aren't great at math and scenarios like this should use Excel’s existing native functions (=SUM) when possible. =COPILOT is designed for tasks beyond native functions (e.g., sentiment analysis). More details here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/c…
This existing experience needs to be addressed though, and we’re testing improvements such as:
a) Returning an error when references aren’t provided, and assisting with fixing the formula to have the correct references
b) Converting prompts into native formulas where possible.
We’ll continue to iterate and share updates as the product experience evolves and we add more capabilities. Please keep the feedback coming.

Have you heard of @DesertBus
@HardDriveMag A year ago I've read hard-drive.net/hd/video-games… I thought it would be and interesting thesis to test.
I've surveyed 679 people and 21.2% picked a game that released when they were 11-15.
I found no correlation between a responder's age and their favorite Zelda game.
@CrackMcCraigen@Technomaru1 Can you shed some light on the "It’s all right ’cause they’re all white!" line? It's been baffling me for literal decades (Love the episode, one of my favorites)
@CrackMcCraigen I’m confused by this detail in “Meet the Beat-alls” but how did Moko Jono/ Michelle switch from a anthro-ape to a normal chimp and vice versa anyway? At least we know Chemical X did it to Mojo!
@LinusTech Girls on the Bus recently had a fantastic scene (episode 6) where the Bus' full size absolutely not mobile router was rebooted by the LAN cable taken in and out and then exploded in a shower of sparks.
Hey gamers, we're looking for the WORST representation of tech in a movie
We've got some scenes noted down, but we know there's much worse out there- best reply gets a free tech tip!
@pennjillette after you've been advertising the @RioVegas to me for 20 years, I'm finally staying here for the first time. So when you were saying "The Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino" you meant "This room is bigger than your apartment"
have u ever wanted words that u wrote to be on nebula's NUMBER ONE jet lag the game related podcast?? well your dream might be about to come true: we're doing another Q&A next week, so reply with any questions u want us to answer!

@Mangum1 It was man-made, man-voiced, digitally altered to sound like George Carlin.
Current generative models aren't nearly as sophisticated to do something like that. Something like that could potentially be feasible some day, but not today.
