Most days I get home and find that my dog is the very best thing that happened to me all day.

Recently I finished listening to the audio version of Revolution by @ericmetaxas . It was fabulous. However, there was so much information that I don’t trust my auditory memory with absorbing it all. So, I just purchased the hardcover to take another run at it.

America is the only nation on earth built on a sentence spoken by Christ: render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s. Every other country in history handed the whole of man to the state, his labor, his allegiance, and his soul alike, or handed the state to a church and called the fusion holy. America alone drew the line exactly where Christ drew it. It gave Caesar the coin, the law, the road, and the sword, everything that is Caesar’s, and then it stopped, because the conscience was never Caesar’s to take. It belongs to God, and no congress, no king, no majority may claim it. A government that claims everything it is owed and nothing it is not, a people standing directly before God with rights no ruler granted and no ruler can revoke. We are not the only nation that speaks of freedom. But we are the only nation that figures out where true freedom lies (in the untouchable sanctuary of the soul) and then built a country whose entire purpose is to guard that sanctuary and never allow the government entry. Our founders looked at the human conscience and said this is holy ground, given freely to God. Never government. Never kings. Never institutions.

I just finished watching @JackCarrUSA’s documentary on Carlos the Jackal on Fox Nation. For anyone familiar with Jack Carr’s work, you won’t be surprised that it’s excellent. The storytelling is engaging and is interspersed with interviews of people involved in the search and capture. The insights are stunning, and the pacing is perfect. I’m fairly certain there’s nothing Jack Carr can’t do.

There is no fight here. There is only a reversal of the truth, and a dishonest one. You speak of "wealth and power" as though they were one thing. They are opposites. The billionaire's wealth is the record of value he created and others freely paid for. It buys him goods. It buys him nothing from you that you do not choose to give. He cannot tax you, jail you, conscript you, or command you. His only weapon is an offer you are free to refuse. Power, real power, is force. The power to seize what a man earns, to dictate what he may build, to punish him if he declines. And that power does not sit in any fortune. It sits in exactly one place: the government office you, and those like you,occupy. So look at what you have done. The man who can only persuade you is branded the tyrant. The man who can compel you, who writes the laws and aims the guns, calls himself your protector. You are not standing up to power. You are power, pointing at the producer to keep all eyes off your own hands.

Communism through (my) ages: 1) When I was 15, a teacher told me "It isn't as bad as they say, and makes a lot of sense." 2) At about 19, college friends, "Socialism isn't communism." 3) At 20, on meeting my grandfather-in-law, "They are evil. We escaped in 1949." 4) At 30, "China is a wonderful developing Democracy" 5) At 35, I was sent to communist China on business. It was a crowded, smelly, dirty, factory of despair and hopelessness. This I saw with my own eyes. 6) At 36, "China doesn't count. Successful socialism is in northern Europe." 7) I moved to northern Europe when I was 40. It was much nicer than China, but also felt like I was living in the past. I had to wait 6 months for a hernia operation. 8) When I was about 45, the migrant crisis began. The socialist/globalist/pacifist allowed them entry into every country, regardless how many crimes they committed along the way. Just 20 minutes from my house, in Calais, I was shocked to see migrants jumping onto trucks, breaking open the doors, scattering the contents across the highway, then climbing in. They went through the Chunnel and got out in England. 9) At 52, the soft socialism around me had transformed into globalism. I was told I had to call people by their preferred pronouns, though it was a lie, and even if I didn't know what the preferences were. I quit. 10) I returned to the US, and am now 60. "Socialism" is no longer a dirty word here. People openly espouse the virtues of it. Politicians run as socialists and win. Socialism has taken many forms, from the Bolshevism of Russia, to the CCP in China, the Nazis in Germany, Fascists in Italy, and the many forms of it found in Latin America. It is one of the two most destructive ideologies on earth. It is designed to deprive, despirit, and murder everything that comes in contact with it. Socialism is a great lie at every level. It helps no one, not even those who benefit the most. This is because the cost is the imposition of one's will on everyone else, and that destroys the soul of the usurper and the life of the oppressed. Socialism always fails on its own, but only after destroying almost everything in its train. It can also be conquered. Those are the options.
