This is such a weird question because you are conflating two separate things. Depending on the circumstances of your divorce, it may have been okay that you didn’t feel welcome. If you felt shame, perhaps you shouldn’t have divorced your wife. Not sure, obviously not enough information. Divorce is not a good thing. And no, there is no reason to go to a Catholic “church” at all. Christianity is true, and whatever Catholic might have been at some point of its origin story, it is not Christian today. It’s a cult with bad doctrine. So these two things really have nothing to do with each other.

When I got divorced 11 years ago I left the Catholic Church because I didn’t feel welcome. I thought I committed a sin. I felt shame. I joined a non denominational church. Should I go back to the Catholic Church? I’m thinking about it.
