Someone on substack is trying to defend Nolan’s Odyssey from my criticism of casting Damon months before the movie came out, and the only way this young person can engage with the world is through cliched tumblr turns-of-phrase. Grim.

I think it's pretty self-evident that Emily Wilson wouldn't be the biggest fan of Nolan's The Odyssey because she, like every single other classicist, is more interested in preserving/conveying the text as Homer wrote it than in adapting it towards a personal end.
