@CoachSwit My kids a 4.0 GPA, all AP’s, junior PO but don’t know what his ceiling is? They say he ‘is projectable” but that doesn’t get you anywhere really. Not sure JUCO is the way to go with his grades but the velo is not there as a 16 yo… so many conflicting opinions.

With older college rosters, the transfer portal, and roster limits… This isn’t the era for a “D1 or nothing” mindset. Junior College Baseball is a great option - and for a lot of players, the smarter path.

@CoachSwit Where else can a 16 yo play but travel? Pls tell me because I haven’t found it yet. No Babe Ruth anymore so what does a parent do?

Travel baseball has turned into: Pay tons of money to play. Pay to travel. Pay to stay. Pay to watch your own kid. And somehow… this became normal. Will it ever change or just get worse?

@ESchmidtChicago @CoachSwit Baseball has become obsessed with velo, while the true art of pitching…command, movement, changing speeds, and working the zone… this keeps getting overlooked.

@Nylon09 @CoachSwit We're in a cold weather state and kind of the same. Varsity coaches haven't seen guys in game situations since camp in June. But will tell everyone how they want pitchers who get outs and hitters who get on base. And of course then just look at pitch speed and exit velo for team.

People think it’s great when 100 kids try out for high school baseball. And it is. But what they don’t see is the hardest part of the job… sitting across from half of the kids who worked hard and telling them they didn’t make a team. No coach enjoys those conversations.

@CoachSwit Not enough coaches have those tough conversations. Some don't have the courage, resulting in a bloated roster with players who won't see the field.

@CoachSwit Well I know many kids (from talking to other moms) who weren’t even afforded a conversation just an email that they were cut from varsity with no feedback an if they wanted feedback to ask for a meeting. Some coaches are cowards unfortunately.

This is a liberal military wife thats all over social media on video ranting over her husband going to Iran & trashing @potus. I won't post her video & let me just say this. In life, you better understand the risks involved in what u sign up for. I understand worry. I also understand emotion. But you cannot take to social media as a military spouse & trash the commander in chief because you don't like what your husband signed up for. It will not be good for his career. I say this as a veteran who served myself. Article 88 in the UCMJ specifically addresses this for both enlisted & commissioned officers. She can't be charged but her husband's military career will be trash.@SecWar
