@Nylonnerves @EmilKalinowski Quite. The Millennials are the kids of the Boomers. Why name them after Gen X. Anyway, this Gen Xer just calls his kids annoying - and forced them to watch 80s teen movies, which they oddly like. One of my kids said, "That looked like a lot easier time to grow up." She's right.

@EmilKalinowski I'm going to state the obvious but shouldn't the kids of GenX be GenY. It's not just sequentially correct; it's a double entendre.

@MacroAlf Does the extra $100 of deposits get created out of thin air too -- where do the deposits come from?

Its funny 40 years ago a house cost 2-3x income, building materials were mostly sourced/made locally & homes were built to last. Today they cost 7-14x income, most materials are sourced cheaply from overseas & the quality is at times questionable. Why is that...(rhetorical)

In a little under 2 hours the Aussie CPI data will be released The consensus at Bloomberg is for 6.2% YoY, its currently 5.2% If it comes in hotter than that the RBA will see even more pressure to raise more than 0.5% in August. Where do you reckon it will end up? Closest wins

@santiagoroel Transcending these archaic notions of identity will perhaps also allow society to pursue a form of radical equality of uniqueness or homogeneity where people will not be held back by traditional socialcultural barriers.

The metaverse is so powerful because it fundamentally allows us to rethink identity in an open canvas that transcends archaic notions of identity like ethnicity, nationality, gender, religion & other primitive markers. I believe it puts more emphasis on what we think and do.

@santiagoroel They're different classifications of games. Games on PS5 do not involve skin in the game, you lose nothing when you die repeatedly. P2E and other web3 games have more in common with casino gaming where the titillation of winning real world money is the most enjoyable factor.

Hear me out. Why would you spend $1k to get started on a Web3 game when you can buy a PS5 for less and play great games? Owning digital property in games is a powerful primitive but thinking users will just come to earn is not enough or sustainable if the game is not fun to play

Part of the issue we currently face is that we have come to expect that events have immediate results, they don't. From Chinese lockdowns to the war in Ukraine, the full impact of these circumstances won't be felt for months to come, if not longer. And that throws us off.

@kofinas Exactly, it is part of every successful bullshitter's strategy to engage you via narratives that are easy to follow and swallow.

One of the side benefits of having interviewed so many people during my time working in radio, TV, & podcasts is that I've developed a set of heuristics for knowing when someone is making what sounds like a really compelling argument but is actually just making a lot of stuff up.

@EmilKalinowski Some of the things previously used as money were more akin to tokens of prestige, like shells, cows etc. There's probably a need to distinguish between what was used in daily exchange (often realm of women) and what were kept as symbols of wealth and prestige (domain of men).

This is the golden asteroid. There is so much gold that if we could get it (and maybe in 100 years we will), gold will become extremely common and cheap. No asteroid can bring us more #bitcoin
