Today is EMS Remembrance Day. It is meant to honour the paramedics that we have lost. Every paramedic leaves a mark on their service, their co-workers, and their community. Their mark and influence are never forgotten.
This post does not include every paramedic we have lost, but every single one mattered. Every one of them showed up for people on their hardest days. Every one of them touched lives, supported families, comforted strangers, and left an impact that continues far beyond a single shift, call, or community.
Behind every uniform was a person who cared deeply, gave endlessly, and made a difference in ways that can never truly be measured.
To all paramedics who have died in service: you are remembered, valued, and deeply missed. Your dedication and compassion will never be forgotten.

#VirtualParamedic A bit of a late lunch today, but Brittany and Rob found something delicious at @FirehouseSubs . We wonder if there is a "Paramedic Station Subs" out there somewhere? #VirtualMuskokaParamedic #ParamedicServicesWeek2026

#VirtualParamedic End of shift usually involves station duties, ensuring the station is clean and ready for the next crews. Paramedics treat these places like their home when not on emergency calls. #virtualmuskokaparamedic #paramedicservicesweek2026

Care doesn't have to begin with a crisis. By reaching people where they are, paramedics enhance overall community well‑being, ease pressure on the healthcare system, and safeguard vulnerable individuals—often preventing emergencies before they happen. @HastingsCounty1 @OAPCMedia
