@ziadtawad @ISDE_net Start the stapling in the abdomen; and don’t bring up loads of conduit to the chest; keep the pylorus and part of the distal stomach in the abdomen. Anastomosis as high as possible.

@Oesophagusuk @ImperialSandC AL are rarely purely technical. It’s complex interplay between multiple risk factors (patient, oncology, timing, nutrition, learning curve), tissue perfusion; tension and the microbiome. We need to move away from blaming surgeons for this problem and change the narrative

Neck dissection for three stage or transhiatal is difficult. Great to practise this on the cadaver. This is one of the best articles to learn this approach safely.
