For clarification if you’re Yoruba it is the husband mother that use to do omugwo (which is ojojo omo) we do it for the culture. But in this it seems that the husband don’t want to left his family aside since he is the one that sponsored his wife then he want to balance it by bringing his mother which is her family too, so later they can bring his wife mother too 👌

It is not your mother that would do omugwo when her mom is alive. If you're bringing anyone for this purpose, it is her mother. Seems like you guys can afford to bring both moms. Why is she unwilling to contribute to the cause? Something is foundationally wrong with the financial arrangement in your home and the extended familial relationship.
