Not sure how much you've been following the clusterf*ck here in LA, but the @latimes has done a odd stories like this lately, like publishing a story essentially claiming Pratt couldn't run for mayor b/ce he has a rental in a different city - even though the county registrar had said very clearly that temporarily displaced fire victims don't lose their residency. Now, they take overall stats to imply Angelenos eyeballs are deceiving them...when in fact people are getting pistol-whipped (but not murdered) in their own homes on the regular. Fun times.

Can't prove it exactly, but I believe this is part of the ongoing reality distortion that is the hallmark of Bass' leadership and campaign. My hypothesis: Homicides are down because gang violence is down. Gang violence is down because of *federal intervention* mostly thanks to the ATF, DEA and FBI.
