So @sonnybunch was right about Project Hail Mary. Nibbles loved it, I liked it. And mostly right about Sheep Detectives (I found the recurring theme of choosing to forget vs the pain of memory to be pretty darn grown-up).

JUST IN: Inflation cooled more than expected in June. US inflation was 3.5% (y/y) in June, down from 4.2% in May. This was the biggest one-month decline since April 2020 (!) Falling gas prices in were the biggest factor.
“Core inflation” (excluding food and gas/energy) eased to 2.6% in June, down from 2.9% in May.
The renewed war in Iran will almost certainly push inflation back up. Relief could be short-lived. But this should give the Federal Reserve some time to see wait and see for awhile.

I question “suddenly” and impeaching Trump would not get you Vance, it would get you a Senate trial with mathematically improbable odds of removal.

Smart stuff here. But if it’s true that Iran’s regime believes taking out Trump will get them a supine version of Vance, they need to think that through. I think it will force Vance to make good on bridges and power plant day.

A short recap of what we did over the last two weeks. Our route was Boston to Savannah, GA, down the coast and then back up to Clemson:
- Swam in a lot of lakes in Pennsylvania because of the heatwave
- Watched a pie eating contest in Virginia
- Celebrated 4th of July in Washington DC
- Relaxed at the beaches in Delaware
- Saw wild horses in Chincoteague, VA
- Went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina
- Had a baby bear block our road in North Carolina
- Tried many new fast food chains like Bojangles and Sonic
- Ate a lot (probably too much) at Taco Bell
- Played minigolf in Myrtle Beach
- Visited beautiful cities like Charleston and Savannah
- Saw an alligator and a lot more cool wildlife

@OKnox The Senator did not appear from what I remember, and I’ve been blind since 2014 to be a prime physical specimen, he likely had a horrible diet and probably didn’t exercise much… This result is not unheard of

Trump says he's giving a speech on Thursday at 9 p.m. Does not mention topic. Could be many things. One question is whether the White House will formally ask the networks for time.

There was a huge scandal in 2013 -- driven by daily outrage from the Right and Fox (and they were right) -- that the Obama DOJ sent subpoenas to AP and Fox reporters to find their sources of classifed infomation. Holder stopped the policy. Now Trump is doing it to the NYT:
