@SonnyBunch Frankly agreed, as A) some will wait for PLF (either for availability or affordability and B) others will wait because their kids are too young for a (soft-ish) R-rated three-hour action drama, and the babysitter might not be available until after opening weekend.

I’ll say, I feel like $105M is mildly overshooting it if only because some people will ONLY want to watch it on IMAX/Dolby, and there are a limited number of those screens. My personal guess is somewhere between 85-95M … which is still an enormous number!

I feel like a key part of maturing as a film lover is seeing ARMY OF DARKNESS the first time and thinking "this looks cheap, and is therefore bad" before seeing it a second time and understanding "this looks cheap, but is still hilarious and awesome, and that's why it's good."

One of my favorite moments from Evil Dead is Ash clearly fighting off 3 skeleton mannequins, and it just feels like Raimi is tossing them at him. Incredible.

@SonnyBunch When I read reviews of a movie, I'm not looking at ratings or thumbs up. I'm looking for a line that's a rosetta stone that will say "Here's the movie you're seeing in words your id will grasp"
Ebert gave the movie 2 stars (he liked evil dead 2 more), but this got me to see it
