You went to a junior day, you met the coaches, but didn't hear anything. Does that mean the school has no interest? Well, this young man experienced that and I had the HC of that school following his account in under 2 hours. Coaches need to see you, I make sure they do. 🙂

Always nice to get a message like this. Certain coaches make things more difficult, the portal makes things more difficult, but that just makes things more rewarding in the end.

@OSSBaseball @JoshuaKnupp The original message that went out was that everyone from Decatur would be able to practice there. A 2nd message was sent out with the Aces amendment. Thankfully, Mitch lets everyone work out at his facility & eat at the Loring restaurant afterwards. Opportunity v obligation 🤝

With older college rosters, the transfer portal, and roster limits… This isn’t the era for a “D1 or nothing” mindset. Junior College Baseball is a great option - and for a lot of players, the smarter path.

@CoachSwit It’s getting worse. Arm injuries are at an all-time high, and high school games are full of guys throwing ~40% strikes with no ability to adjust in-game. Fielding’s just as bad—basic plays on dirt fields aren’t even routine anymore.

Travel baseball has turned into: Pay tons of money to play. Pay to travel. Pay to stay. Pay to watch your own kid. And somehow… this became normal. Will it ever change or just get worse?

Great pitchers separate themselves by locating and adjusting in real time. Miss arm-side? Correct it. Leave one up? Fix the release and get back downhill. Live on the edges, not the middle. Hitting spots isn’t luck—it’s awareness, feel, and pitch‑to‑pitch adjustment.

Of course your club coach is going to tell you how amazing you are, how your HS coach is hating on you and how they can “get you to the next level”. You keep paying them thousands of dollars every year to be on their team…

As youth travel ball starts… Coaches: if you don’t have enough pitching to safely get through a tournament — don’t enter. Too many kids get maxed out just to win a meaningless trophy. No trophy is worth a young arm. Parents — if you allow it, you’re part of the problem.

All public school students should have free admission into all athletic events at their respective schools.

Nothing says “supporting the high school team” like offering your facility for practice… but only if the kids already pay you. That’s not community baseball—that’s a recruiting funnel with a cover charge. ⚾💰

@JoshuaKnupp I have no desire to use the ACES facility—there are plenty of people who open their places for the whole community. Nothing wrong with running a business, but don’t get upset when people wish it supported everyone.

@OSSBaseball For a fact? Do we want to continue with this Mitch? Happy your barn is open. Aces building is currently open to Aces players today too. If your school wants to secure a practice slot, Aces will take your call.

@JoshuaKnupp That’s not true. I know for a fact that one of the players who was told they weren’t welcome never left the team and had no financial obligations to the program.
