Our large USDA SCRI funded multi-state (OR, WA, CA and MS) project to address European foulbrood disease in honey bee colonies started successfully last week in California almonds. Fortunate to have the best teams working together to gather useful insights in the next four years.

What a lovely leaf-cutter from the coastal dunes of Florida. I particularly like the subtle metallic glints on the top of the abdomen. Some populations dark haired, some white. Most populations restricted to dunes, odd Midwestern specimens on the books that no one can find.
