Just try and square the ball up. Who cares what your EV is. It’s just a measurement of who hits the ball hard and teams use it to find “hard hit rate” players. Much of EV comes from the pitcher anyway. You also have to consistently hit the ball on the sweet spot, which on a wood bat is only 2.5 inches.
So train core, speed sticks for fast twitch muscle fibers, and hand eye drills.
The problems arise when players start over swinging. Mechanical breakdowns and fatigue start to set in once we start over swinging.
Hitting is already difficult. So we have to keep it as simple as we can once we step into the box.

Why do hitters need to know EV? Ridiculous! Another thing to worry and think about. This is a huge negative in today’s hitting. Thousands of great hitters went about their business and kept it simple not knowing anything about EV, LA and any other bull 💩 term used!

ON TIME > EVERYTHING
Hitters miss this all the time.
Timing isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s built around your move.
Leg kick guys?
You better start early.
That move takes time. If you’re late getting into it, you’re rushed before you realize it.
Toe tap / simple load guys?
You can wait longer.
Less movement but still have to start on time.
But here’s what most guys don’t understand:
You need time to see it AND get your eyes behind the baseball.
The best swings are a result of seeing it well and getting the barrel where it needs to be for impact. Thats the goal, barrel baseballs.

They both are out. Way too many pcs to this puzzle for me to answer a poll. Obviously you can believe that the 11 pitch at bat helped the team more if it’s in the first inning. If he’s the last out of the game it’s still just an out. If runners are on base and there are less than 2 outs maybe hitter b helps the team more because runners advance. The game requires runs, whatever you can do to produce them is probably always the best outcome.

If you coach early youth baseball, and you tell kids:
DON'T hit the ball in the air because they're automatic outs
DON'T try to hit homeruns.
DO hit balls on the ground to 3B because you'll get to 1B more often.
You are legit crushing the sport.
Getting kids to "want to come back tomorrow" is YOUR ONLY ROLE. My 7 year old doesn't want to go back tomorrow. I don't blame him. You failed.
