The SMART Radars (and likely MAX) are collecting high vertical resolution cross sections of Ida’s remnant eye.

Why does @NIST support meteorological research? Because there is still much to learn about surface wind features in extreme windstorms like #hurricaneida Radar measurements in these environments are critical for advancing meteorological services and building #climate resilience
