This week, we are leading a 3-day capacity building training on Strengthening ESG Integration in Legal Oversight in Mining Investments for the @AGZim_Official in partnership with @zidainvest . The training has brought together key institutions including the @MinistryMines , @EMAeep and other stakeholders to strengthen legal approaches to sustainable mining. Key areas of discussion include: ↘️Mining taxation systems, including royalties and profit tax frameworks ↘️Fiscal incentives and their impact on investment and revenue generation ↘️Tax risk mapping and compliance tools for the mining sector ↘️Identifying and addressing illicit financial flows in mineral value chains ↘️The role of environmental courts in strengthening mining governance ↘️Analysis of mining tax court judgements and legal precedents Through stakeholder engagement , we are strengthening the capacity of legal practitioners to support more transparent, accountable, and sustainable mining governance in Zimbabwe. Copywriter/Editor (Mining Document Review) The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Organisation (ZELO) is seeking an experienced copywriter or editor on a consultancy basis to review and enhance a mining report developed by the organisation. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the document is in accessible text, suitable for the organisations’ target audience. This role requires editing for flow, copy-editing for tone and consistency, and final proofreading for grammar and syntax. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional copywriting experience, with a strong preference for individuals with experience in reviewing documents in the mining and natural resources sectors. The key deliverables will be a "Track Changes" version and a final clean version of the document, to be completed by 7 November 2025. All work will be conducted under a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
