Last night was a vibe at the Nigeria Everywhere – The UK Experience at The Africa Centre 🇳🇬X🇬🇧 We brought together Nigerian creatives in the UK, industry stakeholders from Nigeria, and a strong delegation led by the Honourable Minister @hanneymusawa alongside @obiasika for an evening of meaningful conversations and connections. This was a night hosted in collaboration with the @BritishCouncil and the UK High commission @UKinNigeria . The focus was clear, empowering creatives with the knowledge of intellectual property to protect, own, and monetise their work. A fun night, but more importantly, a step forward for stronger UK–Nigeria creative collaboration. #nigeriaeverywhere #creativeeconomy #culturaldiplomacy

History in the making! 🇳🇬✨ A massive congratulations to the incredibly talented Wunmi Mosaku on her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 98th Academy Awards! Already a BAFTA winner for her powerhouse performance in Damilola, Our Loved Boy, Wunmi continues to soar—now shining bright for her role in Sinners. Born in Zaria, Nigeria, she's taking the global stage by storm, and we couldn't be prouder! 👏🏾 And we can't forget the queen Tems, who paved the way in 2023 with her stunning nomination. Nigerian talent is truly unstoppable! 🕊️🎶 📸credit: Instagram/wunmimosaku #WunmiMosaku #Sinners #Oscars2026 #OscarNoms #BestSupportingActress #BAFTAWinner #NaijaToTheWorld

Spotify hosted Hon. Minister Musawa and music sector leaders in our London office this week. We presented the impact of our work in Nigeria and shared our annual Loud and Clear report, which shows positive results. In 2025, first-time listeners globally discovered Nigerian artists 1.3 billion times, and Nigerian artists generated NGN60 billion — a 141% growth in the last two years. Spotify is committed to working with Hon. Minister Musawa to continue growing the local creator ecosystem and supporting the global reach of Nigerian artists.

Ferdinand defeated the reigning Paralympic Champion and World Record holder, China's Miaoyu Han, lifting a new African Record of 153kg to win the women's up to 79kg event. Nigeria got another GOLD medal on Day 2 through Esther Oyema, who made a winning return to the global stage with a GOLD medal in the women's 55kg, lifting 125kg to secure the victory. This is the first time Oyema would win a World Title since 2024. Meanwhile, Nigeria also won two other medals in the women's 50kg category.
