This sentence by Jensen Huang hits hard: “Greatness does not come out of intelligence, it comes from character. Character is not formed out of smart people, it is formed out of people who have suffered.”

I recently found this note to myself: No sense in thinking small. Don't water down your vision. A remarkable amount can be accomplished if you are willing to think longer term than most and work hard each day.

This advice by Elon Musk hits hard: “Stop being patient and start asking yourself: How can I accomplish my 10 year plan in 6 months? You will probably fail, but you'll be far ahead of the person who simply accepted it would take 10 years.”

In my experience, any young person who is ambitious and acts with urgency has a significant advantage over their peers. A lot of young people walking around with their brains fried from TikTok.

My boyfriend once lent me ₦500,000, and I promised him I would pay it back in 5 months. That meant every month after my salary dropped, I would send him ₦100,000 until I completed the money. So every month, I kept to my word. First month = paid. Second month = paid. Third month = paid. Fourth month = paid. Now, on the last month when I wanted to complete the payment, he had earlier told me to call him immediately after sending the money. And I did. Immediately I sent the money, I called him like he said. While we were still on the phone, I suddenly received an alert of ₦500,000😭 I was confused and asked him why he sent the money back. And then he said something that melted me completely😭❤️ "Well done my Queen. You see, babe… the money was never the issue. I could never collect that money back from you. I just wanted to see if you were truly a woman of your word. A lot of people make promises, but only a few actually keep them. You did… and that says a lot about you. You can keep the money. What mattered to me was your sincerity… and you’ve already shown me that❤️ And honestly, that’s one of the best qualities a woman can have"❤️ Omo… I replayed those sweet words in my head for two weeks straight😭😍 Sweet words from someone you love can stay in your heart for a very long time❤

Why it’s better to live in hotels than own mansions abroad— Billionaire Dangote explains Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has explained why he prefers staying in hotels rather than owning luxury homes abroad, saying he sold his properties in the United States and the United Kingdom to focus fully on building businesses in Nigeria. According to him, maintaining expensive foreign properties creates distractions and extra responsibilities that can take attention away from long-term business goals. He said the decision helped him simplify his lifestyle and remain more focused on his industrial investments. “When I decided to go into the industry, you know what I did? I sold all my properties in the US. I had two houses in the US, big mansions, and I had a house in the UK. I wanted to really sit in Nigeria and concentrate,” Dangote said. He explained that owning holiday homes often comes with obligations that interfere with productivity and personal focus. “Sometimes when you own a holiday home anywhere, you have to create that time to go and use that property. So now my life is very simple. Wherever I go, I use hotels; I pay. When I leave, nobody will call me and say I have a burst pipe or something is wrong,” he added. Dangote also stressed that discipline, vision, and long-term planning remain key to his success, noting that his businesses are guided by clear targets. “So I’m committed to what I do, and I just don’t do things; I always create a vision. It’s just like now; we created a vision for 2030. So, I know I have a target to meet. I just don’t do business. All my businesses are targeted,” he said. He further explained that many of his investments are driven by a desire to reduce dependence on imports through local production. “I first of all look at what we need as a people. What is it that we are supposed to be producing, and what are we importing? So we do what you call backward integration,” he said. “We produce what the people need, and we are now producing things that, when you wake up as a human being every morning, you must use part of what we produce.”

Monica. Right? A trending movie as of today. I've not watched it, but seen clips here and get the gist of the story. Sad. Poignant. Distressing even. Good ending. First daughter used by the whole family. Yet unappreciated. Insulted. Cast aside. Family can be tough. So many people identify with the movie It's my story. I'm going through this now. I just got out of this. Mine is worse. Etc. Family. Family. Family. Family. I can't relate, personally. My biological family is as family should be - one of the greatest gifts from God. In fact, a closely related word is famili-arity. Familiarity is mostly a negative word. In Nigeria, we call it - See Finish. Look at Abraham. When God wanted to do something through him God said - leave your father's house and your hometown. See Joseph. The gift he displayed at home got him hatred, suffering and betrayal. That same gift in a strange land got him recognition, appreciation, and promotion. See David, anointed and everything His brothers were still calling him a wicked person. They refused to see him as anything but a naughty boy. It was Jonathan who said - I know you will be king one day. Even Jesus, the Son of God. God in flesh Himself. Came from Heaven and everything. Raised the dead and walked on water. Yet, in His own earthly hometown, village, and family - He could only cure catarrh and apollo. Why? See finish. You are reading and nodding your head. You watched Monica and were shaking your head. But what about you? Do you respect your boss more than your own parents who have loved you and given their lives and livelihoods for and to you? Then you are Monica's family. Your name is Mama Monica Do you honor your pastor more than your husband, kneeling for him and doing things you won't do for the man who lives with you and cherishes you? You are Monica's family, dear. Your name is Chika or what was that girl's (the sister) name, again? Do you treat other ladies with respect and become a gentleman with female colleagues and ladies in church, but talk to your wife with disdain and in ways you won't try even with your neighbor? You are Monica's family - your name is Bobo. A very silly Bobo for that matter. Do you treat God's church anyhow. You rush to work so you won't be late. You spend money anyhow on things that don't really matter, you read through every other whatsapp group and respond; but you attend church when you like, how you like, get offended easily, like you are doing God a favour. Do you respect one popular man of God somewhere who does not know you, more than your own Pastor who has taught you, labored over you, prayed for you, and given to you? In fact, that man of God is your spiritual father by WiFi right? I see. My dear reader, you are Monica's family. And your surname is See Finish. Repent, repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Cheers.

Every financial goal you have is really a time goal. Retire earl: how many years of expenses do you need? Buy a house: how many months of saving? Financial freedom: how many years of investing? Money is just stored time. When you understand that, you stop asking 'how much do I need?' and start asking 'how much time do I have?'
