@DavidAstinWalsh Zionists are self hating Jews. They're desperately ashamed of the Holocaust, the ghetto and the shtetl. They're desperately ashamed of their history and who they are. The Bundists remind them of both the ghetto and the Holocaust

It’s crazy how they literally all got the memo at the same time to put down Europe and praise Israel.

@citrinowicz Trump is like a UFC fighter caught in a choke hold and insisting his opponent tap out because he's landed so many punches.

Egypt and Pakistan are currently functioning more as message carriers than true mediators, and it is doubtful they have either the leverage or the capacity to bridge the gap between the sides. The core problem is not the transmission of messages, but their substance and beyond that, the fundamentally different approaches each side brings to the table. The U.S. administration appears to operate under the assumption that Iran is in a weakened position, and therefore seeks to impose terms that, from Tehran’s perspective, look less like negotiation and more like diktats. Iran, however, reads the situation very differently. It believes it holds the upper hand, particularly given its ability to exert significant influence over global economic stability, especially through energy markets and maritime chokepoints. Even if Trump were to extend his ultimatum by a few days, it would not materially change Iran’s position. Tehran is unlikely to agree to a ceasefire without concrete guarantees against future attacks, compensation, and some form of recognition of its control or influence over key strategic waterways. Beyond that, Iran is also linking any ceasefire to a broader de-escalation across multiple arenas. In practical terms, Iran’s maximum demands do not come close to aligning with the minimum conditions the United States expects. This is not a gap that Egypt, Pakistan, or any other intermediary can realistically bridge. The issue is structural, not procedural. Iran is unlikely to capitulate. Conversely, if the U.S. administration continues to hold its current line, it may eventually face a point where it must shift strategy or take decisive action. #IranWar

New: Pakistan and Egypt are among the countries channeling communications between US and Iranian officials, a Pakistani official source told CNN on Sunday. The news comes as US President Donald Trump appeared to set a new deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz before the United States begins targeting Iranian power facilities. cnn.com/2026/04/05/wor…

If you somehow didn't realize it yet, The Hasan Piker Discourse™ is a psyop carefully designed to monetize your attention so that you do not notice that the civilization is approaching World War III, an economic collapse & the end of whatever still remains of the democracy

The New York Times report on the rescued US airman falsely implies local Iranians aided him. I asked Julian Barnes, co-author of the report, what the evidence was for this. His Response: 'Oh, Iranians didn't assist the airman. This was speculation "from our Iran experts." (The article never clarifies that this was pure speculation, without any evidence; it has not been edited to indicate that in Barnes's own assessment the airman was not assisted by local Iranians; and it is being used to manufacture consent for this war, based on the conspiracy theory that 'Iranians want this.' Do better, @nytimes. Very disappointing.)

Unironically, we must reject the parochial third-worldism of Donald Trump and embrace the pluralistic civic values of the western tradition that Zohran Kwame Mamdani is upholding.

Jake Tapper read Trump’s post out loud, didn’t skip the profanity or anything… but froze at the “praise to Allah” part, couldn’t bring himself to say it 😂

I guess I’m not VERY shocked that Quincy is celebrating bottom feeders and lowlifes like Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate, but I will admit to being a little bit surprised at how comfortable they are around genocide deniers, Assadists, and literal Kremlin mouthpieces.

@MairavZ @Harbpeace Dahiya was successful from a "spectacle" perspective, as was its application in Gaza. It presents the Israeli public with an "image of victory" which they can hang on to and fulfills their desire for revenge

The Dahiye Doctrine was born during the 2006 war with Hezbollah in which Israel was humbled and failed to achieve its goals. The parallels with 2006 are growing for the US and Israel: intensifying brute force, shifting objectives and running out of time with domestic audiences.
Mairav Zonszein מרב זונשיין@MairavZ

Israeli veteran war correspondent argues that Israel's likely and most decisive plan now in Iran is to enact "Dahiya Doctrine" in areas where regime supports and their families live, ordering them to evacuate and blowing up those neighborhoods. ynetnews.com/opinions-analy…

After @_waleedshahid described how Muslim and Arab voters have felt betrayed by Biden’s apathy towards Palestinian suffering, @SarahLongwell25 responded by summing up their feelings as “a temper tantrum.” Is this how @JoeBiden is planning on winning over Muslim, Arab, and progressive voters this election?
