How EPS destroyed ADMK which was once the most powerful party in Tamil Nadu! EPS committed some terrible blunders as a result of a combination of poor judgment and a self-centered approach to politics. From 2017 to 2021, EPS was able to survive because he had power and money. Power and money can cement people together and hide flaws from the public. But from 2021 onwards, EPS committed some monumental blunders that led to the destruction and fall of ADMK which was once the most powerful party in Tamil Nadu. Here are the reasons for the fall of ADMK because of EPS, and EPS alone: 1. TTV – Despite insistence from HM Amit Shah, EPS refused to induct TTV Dhinakaran into the then NDA. This resulted in ADMK losing 23 seats to the DMK because the votes secured by TTV were higher than the DMK’s winning margins in those constituencies. Had EPS agreed to Shah’s proposal, the DMK may not have secured a simple majority, and Shah might have helped EPS continue in power. EPS screwed it up. 2. Expelling OPS – The dual leadership model worked well for ADMK, and that is precisely why ADMK managed to secure 33% of the vote share in 2021. By expelling OPS, EPS came across as a selfish politician and also lost significant Mukkulathor support. OPS is another traitor and that story is for another day 😇 3. EPS is not charismatic – For some strange reason EPS always considered himself as another MGR or Jayalalithaa. This is why he gave himself the title “Puratchi Thamizhar” and eventually became a laughing stock. Not even his dedicated supporters used that title to address him. 4. Pathetic opposition leader – For 4½ years, EPS failed to function as an effective opposition leader. There were innumerable issues over which he could have pinned the DMK government down, but he failed miserably. He thought people would vote for him purely because of anti-incumbency. He misjudged the pulse of the electorate. 5. Underestimating Vijay – EPS should have gone for an alliance with Vijay, and that alliance could have swept the polls. His “big brother” attitude did him no good. 6. Not extending support to TVK – After the 2026 election, EPS should have acted like a statesman and extended support to the single largest party. Instead, he locked his MLAs in a resort and reportedly started negotiating with DMK to become Chief Minister. This was an absolutely disgusting and disgraceful act of political opportunism. He tried to collude with the very party that was the reason for the birth of his own party. Now he has lost most of his MLAs because he was loyal neither to his party nor to his supporters. Well, EPS supporters may disagree with my assessment of his leader, but they cannot contest the numbers below. When EPS took over after the demise of Jayalalithaa, ADMK had: • 37 Lok Sabha MPs • 10 Rajya Sabha MPs • 136 MLAs • 40.88% vote share Today, under EPS’s leadership, ADMK has: • 0 Lok Sabha MPs • 4 Rajya Sabha MPs • 47 MLAs • 21.21% vote share And now, even these 47 MLAs are divided into two factions - 30 vs 17. Soon, many from the “17 club” may join the “30 club,” leaving EPS isolated as a political orphan. When you destroy the very party that made you, because of your greed, ego and selfish goals, this is what will happen. KARMA! I feel sorry for @ADMKofficial which got destroyed under the 'lack of leadership' of @EPSTamilNadu Thanks to @AMIT_GUJJU for the numbers. BTW, I don’t feel bad to confess that I voted for ADMK in 2026 hoping NDA will defeat DMK!
