Why spend millions on cryptography if your keys spend 99% of their life unprotected? We need to fix key management first.

@nejatian @Shopify So what types of changes did you make? Mostly around making tariffs visible on the purchasing side perhaps? I assume it was considered more of an edge case before and up to the purchaser to be aware of/sort out?

A team of engineers, designers, product managers, and lawyers at @Shopify worked through the weekend. We are thankful tariffs were avoided, but in case they weren't we were ready to ship a lot to make sure our merchants can thrive in face of change. Very proud of our team.

@JustinTrudeau I don't see how this isn't a declaration of war. We should cut off all: Oil, Energy, Aluminum, Steel, Copper, Potash, Uranium, etc. immediately. If America is not a viable country without #Canada, we can consider provisional Territory status.

@cgeneral19 @merry123459 Are you sure you don't make too much after taxes? It's based on net family income and foreign tax credit is worked in before calculating the adjusted net family income.

@merry123459 For me personally, it's financial. I'm a cross-border worker and since he took office I can't apply foreign tax credits towards the child tax benefit any longer. So yeah, not a fan, I have 3 kids.

When someone tells me they don’t like Trudeau, the second I ask them WHY, it fukks up their programming. Then you get to watch them stammer and studder searching their brain for an answer that isn’t there. Or they come up with one that has nothing to do with him. Then I step in.

@SwiftOnSecurity Sorry, the best deal we are prepared to make is to burn down the executive mansion (White House) again, as well as re-takeing New Ireland. Otherwise piss off and sort yourselves out.

People bitching about the Canada Post strike: Canada Post is irrelevant, defund them, we can just use private shippers! Those same people: CANADA POST HAS DESTROYED MY BUSINESS, STOLE MY WIFE AND DOG, BURNED DOWN MY HOUSE, AND RUINED MY LIFE.

@canadapostcorp , I don't need or want weekend delivery. I would rather you hire more full time workers during the week. If you do end up hiring part-time folk, will I get a wage for doing your job and driving to pick things up after receiving a pickup slip?

@ObstacleMan @garak47 @helenjo09866384 @lex6m @JohnCleese Again, you’re dopey. Guns save lives. A modest estimate of defensive gun uses in this country ranges from 750k to 3 million. We had less than 20k gun deaths in 2023. As for you, when tragedy strikes you’ll have to call another man to come help you.

@MackDrastic @garak47 @helenjo09866384 @lex6m @JohnCleese Apparently, at least one armed guard is present in 1/4 of all school shootings. And shootings with armed guards seem to end with more people killed. Doesn't seem to work so perfectly. Since school shooters seem to be suicidal, the presence of a guard may be an incentive.

@MackDrastic @garak47 @helenjo09866384 @lex6m @JohnCleese Neat how at Uvalde people you call who have guns were preventing parents from going in and protecting their kids vs doing any protection. Don't you also have armed gards in schools? And some states with armed teachers? Has it ever worked?

@garak47 @helenjo09866384 @lex6m @JohnCleese In a country with a billion or so guns, the only way to secure the meaningful things in your life is to protect them with guns. Meanwhile, something tragic might happen to you or your loved ones and you’ll have to make a call. To who? A person with a gun to come and protect you.

Dear everyone. From what I can tell, these researchers claim to have cracked 20-bit RSA (which I can crack on a MacBook) using a D-Wave computer (which is not a general-purpose quantum computer) and an algorithm that may or may not even work at scale.

Paper straws are terrible. No one likes them. They suck at sucking. They are bad for people's health and bad for the environment. Common sense Conservative bill C-380 will legalize plastic straws. Bring back plastic straws. Have YOUR say at conservative.ca/save-plastic-s…
