Day 1 Highlights from the NANGO EASTERN REGION NGO EXPO & WINTER SCHOOL 2025! We kicked off with an insightful Winter School session under the theme: “Repositioning Local Actors as Leaders in Humanitarian and Development Action”. 💬 Tatenda from Trocaire led the discussion, providing a compelling overview of: ✅ The Grand Bargain ✅ Charter for Change ✅ Global localisation commitments Together with participants, we unpacked what Localisation really means and addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding the localisation agenda. They bribe to pollute and take out loans to pollute even more. There is need for responsible mining.

Representing the disability sector Godfrey Dzveta added that there are challenges faced by persons with disabilities with the current debt management process that are: 1. Inadequate support for social safety nets for persons with disabilities 2. Exclusion in debt management processes leading to poor support for Assistive Technologies, infrastructure and Recommendations 1. Commit to funding social safety nets to improve rights of persons with disabilities just as external debt payments. 2. Hasten gazetting of the disability bill and operationalise it.
