@FUDdaily Since the topic of the debate is whether people should worry about Islam, saying there is a mob of Muslims outside who would kill someone for criticising Islam is probably not a winning strategy.
English

Leaving aside the veiled threat here, Oxford should be deeply embarrassed that its students weren't able to hand Tommy Robinson his arse on a plate. These are supposed to be elites trained to win debates.
Basil the Great@BasilTheGreat
WOW. A student at the Oxford Union tells Tommy Robinson he is lucky they've put security on for him otherwise their Pro-Islam supporters outside would beat him to death This is the Oxford Union, how far it has fallen as an institution when this is the sort of argument made

@TheWickedJJ @BBCNews Then they found out he wasn't a nonce and they fired him instantly.
English

@BBCNews You guys did a bunch of (completely uncritical) documentaries on this guy and gave him his own radio show.
Anything to say for yourselves? The BBC is part of the problem here.

@ThePosieParker @benonwine It's at least an opening for negotiations. The only condition that struck me as unreasonable was demanding a veto on who can be a minister. I think most Reform voters would agree with the others.
English

@benonwine Let's be reasonable, he publicly asked to work with Reform on terms he knows they cannot and will not agree to. This wasn't a genuine offer, this was a political move to try and provoke Farage.
English

Rupert Lowe has just made a public offer to Nigel Farage.
He’s said that if Restore Britain and Reform UK can agree on a small number of fundamental principles, they should put personal differences aside and find a way to work together.
The principles he’s putting forward include:
• Restoring demographic security for the native British people
• Stopping the spread of Islam and affirming Britain’s Christian heritage
• Building a resilient, self-sufficient economy
• Restoring faith in politics
Country before ego.
Results before rivalry.
What do you think?
Would you support this kind of cooperation?
Do you think it’s a good idea or a mistake?
Drop your honest view below.

@rthonbwooster @Docstockk Whatever else he is guilty of, his book does have a great opening line:
"When Mr Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced that he would shortly be celebrating his eleventy-first birthday with a party of special magnificence, there was much talk and excitement in Hobbiton."
English

@Docstockk JO'B hasn't just blurbed Arday's previous book; he's blurbed the one coming out. (You have to go into "Raves and Reviews.") He also, rather unusually, but perhaps in a zeitgeist-defining way, reviews the author rather than the work.

@labourpress @Nigel_Farage The same way Andy Burnham explains that he was loyal to Keir Starmer and the Labour party came first?

@Telegraph I don't believe London liberals have the self awareness to understand no one likes them.

After three years of hosting Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips on Sky News, the journalist, broadcaster, sometimes public official and enduring bee in the bonnet of the Labour Party, has been appointed as a senior global affairs correspondent for CBS.

@ThatAlexWoman If you're going to go rigidly on "Thou shalt not kill", then how can we have an Army, an Air Force and a Navy? "Thou shalt not kill" is generally taken to mean you shouldn't murder. The law of Moses did include a legal death penalty for many things.
English

@_glorianas They come here for only one reason - because they believe stupid, soft headed liberals will let them stay. As we've seen with America, as soon as they know they will be turned away, they stop coming.
English

@RupertLowe10 Thank you for doing this. I hope Reform will respond in the same spirit.
English

This is a very welcome development and I hope Reform UK will respond positively. We can't afford to havs the right split the way it currently is.
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10
The Greater Manchester result showed what Restore Britain can deliver. The next step is how we maximise the chances of delivering the change Britain needs - it means putting personal differences aside. That is why today I am making a public offer to Nigel Farage and Reform UK.
English

@mrssomerset @nazirafzal Another easy block. Thanks for showing yourself.

If you don’t think he’s a woman, you’re transphobic. When he claimed to be a woman, he became a woman. He now belongs in women’s changing rooms, bathrooms, hospital wards, prison cells and rape support centres.
If you try and differentiate between him and a trans woman who looks more convincing as a woman, you are promoting patriarchal beauty norms. If you admit to seeing an aggressive and possibly unbalanced man in this video, you’re saying all trans people are mentally ill predators. If you refuse to let him into female-only spaces, you’re removing his right to exist. If you suggest he could comfortably use male facilities, you secretly want him assaulted. If you refuse to call him ‘she’, you are guilty of unpardonable cruelty. If you’re a woman who wouldn’t want to share a locker room with him, or a man who wouldn’t want your daughter, sister or mother to get undressed in close proximity to him, you belong to the far-right. If you point out that there is no objective difference between his claim to be a woman and that of any other biological male claiming a trans identity, you are too stupid to understand the circular arguments explaining why he’s not really trans whereas other men who say they’re women are really trans.
If you’re righteous, you must argue that this man’s self-declared identity overrides any consideration of the safety and rights of females. To be godly, you must agree he’s as ‘valid’ as every other trans woman, because people are who they say they are. No matter what your eyes, ears and common sense are telling you, if you don’t want to end up on the wrong side of history, you must pretend to believe that this angry, intimidating man is actually a vulnerable, oppressed woman.
English

@PaulEmbery I don't think anyone in their right mind could believe he's innocent, including his colleagues. In my opinion they just wanted to promote a young black man who'd give them their white colonial guilt fix. Academia is a fraudulent cesspit at this point.
English

I had a working-class upbringing, did not go to university, and have no background in academia. When writing my book, Despised, as well as a thousand other opinion pieces, it never occurred to me for a moment that I should reproduce the work, ideas or arguments of others without proper attribution. And if I had, I would not expect to have been shielded from proper scrutiny or criticism. This is a basic rule of authorship, and one that should not be set aside for reasons of political expediency.
English

@Telegraph This is just a wild guess, but I'm bettting no Muslim police officers have been invited to give up anything for Lent as an act of solidarity with Christians.
English

Non-Muslim officers and staff working at West Midlands Police have been invited to fast during Ramadan in an “act of solidarity”, The Telegraph can reveal.
