The Trump economy is falling apart, gas prices are way up and a reckless war of choice is raging in the Middle East. Meanwhile. Donald Trump thinks that passing a voter suppression law is the most important thing for our country. We will hold the line.

Black-owned bookstores in the U.S. now have their own directory for the first time ever, launched by the nonprofit National Association of Black Bookstores — who found that: • There are 306 Black-owned bookstores nationwide (8% of independent bookstores) • 14 states have no Black-owned bookstore • Nearly 90% report annual revenue at under $250,000 • Sales of books by Black authors declined by 14%, despite an increase in overall print sales Check out the directory: nab2.org/state-of-black…

What's up for March? The Moon will appear red during a total lunar eclipse on March 3. On the 8th, Venus and Saturn snuggle close in the night sky. Plus, March 20 is the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. More: science.nasa.gov/solar-system/w…

@mattxiv Operative word: disproportionate. And to that he’s right. Maybe not on your algorithm but for people who exist outside of blue bubbles and media, that’s all they were seeing and chastised for not understand and/or getting it right the first time. Do y’all want to win or bitch?

Houston, we have a problem. 423,844 registered voters. 27,166 showed up. That’s 6.4% turnout in a majority-minority district. And y’all writing think pieces? You don’t win elections on Twitter. You win by knocking doors and moving voters. If you’ll pay taxes at brunch, you can show up to decide where the money goes. Early voting is happening now for the U.S. Senate primary to replace Sen. Cornyn — who proudly backed Trump 99% of the time. Black folks and forward-thinking people of all races need to turn out for @jasmineforus if you believe she’s the best candidate. Share if you care, because we should assume everyone knows it’s early voting right now in Texas.

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

@harrisonjaime @ColinAllredTX This was never about Colin’s qualifications, it was about the campaign he ran. Clearly it was mediocre because he didn’t win. These aren’t mutually exclusive.

"Electability" has become a weapon used against candidates who don't fit a certain mold. @ColinAllredTX and I are unpacking this issue and why Texas—and America—deserves better. Don't miss this important conversation. Tune in here: youtu.be/QmuI4BKAC54

@2RawTooReal I beg you to take this down. This is so extremely dangerous at a time when we need to be doing everything we can to stop Ken Paxton from getting elected— effectively making things worse for Texans and the US. I would be more than happy to have a side convo.

@2RawTooReal Okay I was with you for the pro Kamala stuff, but this is block you material right here. Do you even live in Texas? Cause we’re trying to win a damn Senate seat and keep a crook Ken Paxton out of Washington. And all this is not helping that. Period.

Happy Black History Month! For 100 years, each February we’ve celebrated the Black folks who've shaped our nation and fought for our freedoms. As we reflect on how far we've come, we can't lose sight of the work that remains. The dreams of our ancestors depend on all of us carrying on their work and refusing to be deterred. That's what Black history is all about: the enduring hope, joy, resilience and resistance—truths that resonate as powerfully today as ever before.
