minimum wage discourse in the uk rn is amazing because people with zero experience claim that if small independent businesses can't afford an 18% increase in costs they aren't running a viable business while simultaneously complaining that every big profitable company is evil

When I was in the Royal Navy we had an issue with sailors developing severe burns on their hands after a run ashore (night out in a foreign port). Basically, they were getting a whole chicken to eat as they walked back to the ship but putting their whole hand in it to carry it as they ate it. It became known as 'chicken on a fist'.

@TonyWard867811 You can smell the plan already, the media and banks will pretend nothing is wrong, accumulate even more debt, in 2 years or whatever reform or something get in and Tey to get this under control eg cuts BoE triggers a crisis like the truss one forcing then out of power

The bond market just told you Britain is broken. UK 30 year gilt: 5.76%. Highest since 1998. UK 10 year gilt: 5.08%. The US 10 year sits at 4.43%. Britain pays 65 basis points more than America to borrow money. Every basis point is your tax. Your pension. Your mortgage. The last time the UK 30 year sat here, Tony Blair was in Downing Street. No banks have failed. No Lehman moment. No crisis trigger. Just this government. This Bank. This currency. This level of debt. The bond market does not bluff. It does not vote. It does not protest. It prices the truth. Bailey is paying 5.08% to fund a state being debased at over 11% a year. The lender loses 5% in real terms. Every year. Guaranteed. This is your pension. Your ISA. Your annuity. Britain is in a slow motion sovereign debt crisis. And nobody on television is calling it. PROTECT YOURSELF NOW.

So if Greenwich Council went green, which is highly possible, the likes of Bexley, Eltham and Chislehurst would be punished by Reform with a deportation centre on our doorsteps. Even more reason to Vote Conservative if you live in South East London🌳

When you are elected (for example even as a councillor) you should be there to serve all your constituents, not just those who voted for you. You certainly shouldn’t “punish” voters who didn’t vote for you.

Why are people like Gary so emotional and highly strung …. Chill out buddy and have a normal conversation. Such a good question which I think many don’t know how to answer. Do people want to heavily tax individuals or companies ? What does taxing the rich look like ? Who are the rich? Give me a figure of who that is? How much liquid cash or assets ? How would you enforce it ?
