@redneckas1an @SethMSherwood Yea if you’re on staff you will qualify after ten weeks even without episode assignments. This mostly screws over someone who gets a random freelance. I don’t see the purpose of it but support staff aren’t exactly who the WGA cares about

@SethMSherwood @OhNoItsHeddo They should still qualify based on their weekly x weeks worked (assuming it’s more than 10 weeks or so). Staff writers didn’t get episode fees once upon a time — but definitely assistants who used to get a freelance episode won’t get that benefit.

If you're a lower level or mid level WGA writer who doesn't staff regularly or books studio features... If, like most of us, you're a gig writer, spec slinger, or script doctor... get all your medical needs taken care of before the star of next year.

Also minimum threshold for earning coverage is now 110% of an hour long network drama script and extended point coverage goes from 2.5 a quarter to 4.0.

Scandalous if true. But would an assistant really admit to uploading confidential material onto a third-party server – even off the record? It's not just risking your job. It's risking humiliation when the AI invariably gets some detail wrong and you repeat its mistake out loud

Catalytic converter theft could be SO easily prevented, if state officials simply prohibited sales of used catalytic converters to metals recyclers, and then did sting operations to crack down on and arrest illegal metals fencing/recycling operations.
The fact that this simple step hasn't been taken, or that there have been scant investigations or arrests of these types of crimes, demonstrates that our government officials WANT criminals to steal our catalytic converters.
