Running has taught me the true meaning of "Running your own race". When I had just started, all I wanted was to win and run faster than everyone else. I never listened to my body, never tracked my runs, didn’t even know about Strava, and I definitely didn’t have proper running shoes.
My very first long distance run was 42 kilometers and it left me with an injury that lasted eight months.
But everything changed when I joined a community of runners. They taught me that running is not about competing with others; it’s about understanding your own pace, listening to your body, and enjoying the journey.
Today, I run smarter, happier, and healthier. And here I am a proud and happy Ugandan runner.
