It'll be interesting to see how Samanski approaches camp. IMO, if he thinks he has a job nailed down, he'd be mistaken.
If I were Colton Dach, I'd work on my ability to win faceoffs & playing centre.
The more he can do, the more opportunity he'll get in this Oilers lineup.

This isn't a smart offer sheet by the Flyers, unless you are confident ANA will match. If they don't you don't have a 1st for four years and too much AAV for one player. Offer sheets, like Hayton, Broberg, Holloway, are better when AAV and picks aren't too restrictive.

Claude Giroux would be a good fit as a UFA. Obvious trade targets too but Oilers don’t have many assets.

The Oilers still have $6.4m in cap space with 14 forwards, 6 defensemen & 3 goalies on the roster.
Burying Janmark saves $1.2m & they could free up more space by running with 12 forwards next season.
Still some room to add another piece up front 👀

Seeing some Oilers fans who are upset that the Oilers can’t run wild in free agency.
I’m thankful. Our GMs have been doing some of their greatest long term damage during free agency.

If Flyers want EDM to retain $3m on Nurse, in a Nurse for Seeler trade, I see no reason why EDM would make that trade. I'd wait for better offer.

Bob Stauffer on Oilers Now: If the Oilers trade Darnell Nurse to the Penguins or Flyers, they may not create much salary cap space.
But if Nurse ends up with the Sharks, Edmonton could open up significant cap room.

You have to trade nurse today or tomorrow , or this whole plan kinda falls apart and it’ll be a lot of nibbling on the scraps of free agency or smaller trades.
