There is the type of moral free-fall and rejection of personal responsibility expressed on the Times podcast. Because they condemn our age as unethical, they feel justified in asserting a moral right to commit any offense, from "microlooting" to murder...thehill.com/opinion/crimin…

Yesterday marked a deeply meaningful turning point in my life: my final day as a Protestant. After completing a year in RCIA, my children and I will be received into the Catholic Church this evening. The journey began through what felt like divine intervention, sparked by a thoughtful conversation with a wonderful priest at the Holy Well in Tara - an encounter that stayed with me and set so much in motion. I was introduced to him through my now Godmother, who recognised me in a shop from an interview I had just given. Truly, God works in mysterious ways. In many ways, it feels like a path that has been quietly forming for a long time. After more than two decades living in a Catholic country, with my children in Catholic schools and my own involvement in supporting the Catholic ethos in education, this step has grown naturally out of lived experience as much as personal reflection. Today - being baptised alongside my two children, and sharing the joy of my daughter’s First Holy Communion, makes this moment especially profound and deeply personal. Grateful for the journey, and for what lies ahead.

My favourite pic from my 100 chakuti literary events over more than a decade! I was in conversation with the brilliant @OkeyNdibe. The story I tell is that this was our response when someone asked: "What do you really think of @ikhide Ikheloa?" I'm sticking to that story!🤪

*pounds cute chest* No condition is permanent. I was #BLOCKED on Twitter by Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, Dino Melaye, Dele Momodu, and Femi Fani-Kayode, thugs, thieves and clowns, elite "leaders" of Nigeria who dug up the open sore of our country. I was screaming for justice when it was fashionable to invite el-Rufai the ethnic cleanser to literary events, take selfies with Obasanjo, etc... I will not name their puppy sidekicks, PhDs and social media vuvuzelas who also #BLOCKED me for my political views. I was excommunicated by literary and political tribes I used to belong to and made a pariah by those who it turns out live off of the offal of our thug-rulers. I refused to bow to their entreaties, demands, blackmail and bullying. I could have been wealthy by writing silly little books decrying the fate of "Africa." I could have been stinking rich by selling my voice to either political party. I did not, because I can afford to be me. I do not need their blood money. I simply could not look myself in the mirror if I didn't speak up against evil men like Obasanjo, Buhari, el-Rufai, Tinubu, etc... Time takes care of everything. Look who is now "the opposition." I am still here, no shaking! I am still here. I am very proud of myself. I looked evil in the eye and spat in his face. Yes. Ah, yes, Happy Birthday, me. Belated. 😏

”People are talking about the medical necessity of abortion to save the mother's life. I was one of those mothers. I was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that was cutting off my airway at 20 weeks of pregnancy. I will never forget when the first doctor, an oncologist, mentioned abortion. We had gone thru years of infertility to get pregnant. I knew I would rather die and give birth. Then I met with another doctor who listed all of the problems the baby would have if I did not terminate. I stood my ground and refused. He said, "That is ok. The baby will probably spontaneously abort anyway." I searched and found good doctors that supported me, and I gave birth to a healthy baby at 34 weeks. I will be celebrating 10 years cancer free in May. I have a healthy, beautiful, bright, precious 10 year old daughter who is a living reminder that doctors do not know everything” - Sarah Hull

Analysis: In general, Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show had the kind of wholesome, traditional family values that would have fit right in with some of the more sentimental commercials that appeared during the game. wapo.st/4r0BKOB

@LilaGraceRose I’m happy I didn’t watch filth. Alas, the culture—much of music, sports, other entertainment—grows coarser and coarser. Strikes me as altogether demonic.

A statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St. Gertrude Church in Far Rockaway, New York was destroyed by vandals. The same statue was previously vandalized on October 2, 2025, when a garbage bag with a skull-like face was placed over its head. Eternal Father, I offer to You all the wounds of Your dearly beloved Son, Jesus Christ; the pains and agony of His Sacred Heart and His Most Precious Blood, which gushed out from all his wounds, for the reparation of my sins and those of the whole world. Amen.

God has given me many great gifts in my life, but truly nothing even comes close to watching a new little one come into this world. Our new little baby girl Clare Jones was born last night on the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord. All are happy and healthy. My wife is a hero. God has been so incredibly good to us. He just keeps giving me new best days of my life.

This is horrific, there are some demonic forces at work in our country. ———- This morning Staff at Holy innocents Catholic School in Long Beach, CA arrived to discover the school assembly hall, chapel, and classrooms had been broken into and desecrated. What appears to have been multiple perpetrators smashed statues and ruined images of our Lady, other statues as well, and threw the tabernacle down. A call was made at 7:00 AM local time to Law Enforcement who have yet to arrive at the time of this post. The FBI was also contacted. The Bishop is on site now with the staff assessing the situation as they wait for law enforcement. Bishop, Mark Trudeau said that it is the worst case of vandalism that he's ever seen in the region.
