16% of British Muslims support ISIS. That’s 640,000 people in this country who back a group who sold sex slaves in open air auctions, raped and killed their way across the Middle East, chopped off heads with gay abandon. But remember, Britain definitely isn’t broken.
Matt Goodwin@GoodwinMJ

The statistics that nobody in the UK wants to discuss: -24% of British Muslims openly support Hamas -22% support the Iranian Revolutionary Guards -16% support Islamic State (!) -14% support al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan -62% say burning the Quran should be a criminal offence -52% want to make showing images of Muhammad a criminal offence -50%+ say Jews have ‘too much power’ in banking, politics, media -48% support banning all Israeli tech from the UK health service -36% favour severing ALL political & economic ties with Israel -32% want more segregation between men & women in public spaces in Britain -26% want to reverse same-sex marriage -26% want to ban dogs in outdoor public spaces -24% say violence is ‘legitimate’ if somebody burns the Quran/makes images of Muhammad -22% think Muslim men should be able to have multiple wives -63% put their Islamic identity first; but only 12% put their British identity first All these numbers come from a new poll from JL Partners. We are not talking about small numbers of people here. We are talking about millions. And as Britain’s Muslim population is forecast to rise from 6% to 17% by the year 2050. And to then 26%+ by the end of the century, these attitudes, which are often more strongly held among younger Muslims, will only spread. Somebody in politics or media has to start a national conversation about what Muslims in Britain think and what it means for our country in the years ahead.

Some staff are alleged to have faked in-person working by connecting to their office Wi-Fi from a nearby car park before returning home. Senior managers dub it a “drive-by login”. Some mandarins are said to be scared of the prospect of Nigel Farage becoming Prime Minister and forcing a full-time return to the office. Internal absence records obtained by The Telegraph confirmed some civil servants were staying away from the office for more than two years in some cases. telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer…

Hard to get the US to share secrets with anti-innovation EU. UK needs tech sovereignty - a home for great new firms but not simply so US predators can swipe them as they scale. Meanwhile we need HMG to engage with Anthropic: Mythos is a total threat and we need to be at the table
Nic@nicrypto

Let me explain how significant this is. Mythos can find vulnerabilities in virtually ANY software system. European companies haven't seen it so they can't build defences against something they've never assessed. The White House opposes giving European companies access. The result: US companies and institutions can prepare for what Mythos can do. European companies are flying blind. The transatlantic relationship just took another knock.

Good answer from Malcolm. The affluent areas of Glasgow that vote Green can not only host the refugees aka illegal migrants but they can pay for hosting them. No more dumping them in the least affluent areas of Glasgow East.
Rebecca Brady@Rebecca_Brady_

Reform’s Scottish leader tells me putting detention camps in Green constituencies isn’t a problem, though polls suggest they’ll only win Edinburgh and Glasgow seats (where property’s expensive). Malcolm Offord says Green voters want them and those councils are ‘better funded’

It’s a joke to British people that the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has said she wants MORE refugees when we’ve only deported 495 illegal migrants, across a range of nationalities, since 2018. Sounds like she’s trying to save her job if you ask me.

I’m immensely proud of this piece of work. The crisis in the Channel requires clear data, including on returns. We reveal, thanks to amazing work by @MigObs, how the Home Office is struggling to remove the vast majority of the biggest cohorts arriving by small. This may seem obvious. But the numbers are staggering. And now you can see them for yourself, for the first time. More to come on this.

You are quite right to keep highlighting these issues @elerianm It seems to me that so much of the UK's political and media class is in denial about the fragility of our public finances – and the related systemic dangers. They think "the public doesn't get it" - so why should politicians and journalist care either? This is, of course, a profound misjudgement. Voters, in my experience, as a whole, are so often ahead of most MPs and commentators. There is a growing sense, among the UK's mighty "silent majority", that we're living beyond way beyond our means – and only some kind of reckoning will impose reality and finally bring us to our senses ...
Mohamed A. El-Erian@elerianm

Some may feel I’m dwelling on this, but I am concerned for the health of the UK economy. The yield on the 10-year gilt has climbed 12 basis points today (see the CNBC chart below), decoupling from both oil prices and yields in other advanced economies—both of which are currently lower. Meanwhile, the 30-year yield has just hit a 28-year high. #economy #markets #gilts #uk

Glenn Beck: "Where do you stand on the WEF?" RFK Jr: "We shouldn't be paying any attention to it. It's a billionaires boys club that’s arranging for the world to shift wealth upward, and to clamp down totalitarian controls on everybody else". "It's astonishing to me that these people go to Davos in their private jets, and they're able to tell these world leaders how to govern us in ways that eradicate our constitutional and civil rights." "COVID we shifted $4 trillion of wealth upward. We closed all of the little guys. They were all colluding with each other to censor guys like me complaining about it."

That's weird. You say this is a society-wide issue but I don't know anyone who's anti-semitic in my very wide circle of friends and colleagues - and yet the Green Party has managed to find plenty of Jew haters in just their local council candidate list. Maybe this is more of a YOU problem than an ALL OF US problem?
Caroline Lucas@CarolineLucas

Statements that have now come to light from a handful of @TheGreenParty candidates are totally unacceptable & require immediate action. There’s no place for anti-semitism or any hate speech in the party. This is a society-wide problem & needs to be rooted out wherever it’s found

Oh dear, it’s all unraveling for Polanski. He’s being accused of being a ‘total fraud’ across ‘almost his entire career’ by commentators. How can the public trust a word he says? No wonder why new polls show Zack’s approval ratings have plummeted.

I've been asked by @TalkTV to speak to Jeremy Kyle @jkyleofficial tomorrow morning to discuss this. It isn't only a breach of the law, but a cynical manipulation and presentation of one boy, who expressed support for @Nigel_Farage and was made to look like another #Adolescence. That's a safeguarding issue, all for a party-political broadcast on behalf of @AngelaRayner.
Adrian Hilton@Adrian_Hilton

I don't know what school this is, but unless the headteacher has invited a Reform UK politician (and others) to rebut this disinformation and to give a balancing view, this electioneering is a blatant contravention of Part V, Chapter IV, Sections 406-7 of the Education Act 1996.

UK long-term borrowing costs just surged to their highest level in 28 years. It looks increasingly likely that a financial crisis could soon push Britain into a major political crisis.

Let's assume the 'marches' are banned. Where would this leave anyone wanting to protest about what's going on in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria?
