@bdfagan whoever decided to rescind them needs to be fired. It's not like it was 2500 of them where it could legit cause problems. the decision to tell them "oops our bad" was a worse mistake than the original snafu

I went through BYU’s “top 5” PR program. Love BYU to death, but never found that program useful. It didn’t teach social media or any modern relevancies. Most of the professors barely had real PR experience themselves. Two of my professors worked at a community center prior to becoming a “professor.” I learned more about PR working in the AD, where real PR experts operate daily. Anyway, the school just sent out 9 accidental admissions. The PR on this should have super simple: 1) Let them in, it never hits the news, no negative press. 2) Reverse the decision and it becomes a viral negative news story. You’ll be forced to reverse the reverse, and generate more negative press. 🤡

Nobody cares more about BYU basketball than Utes. Their dedication to the Cougar Hoops program is admirable and I can only hop BYU fans can match their focus.

I even had to learn how to use my left eye as my dominant eye after a surgery left my right eye partially blind and not as effective so that I could keep reading it. Once Robert Jordan died before it finished I was devastated but I'm so glad @BrandSanderson was able to finish it

For those who may not know, I was told when I was about 14 years old I would likely die soon from a rare disease that had never before had any survivors. I had started reading the Wheel of Time the summer before and needed to stay alive so I could read book 2 when it was released

I think it’s safe to say that’s an all time BYU hoops moment. 41 on 3 straight 3’s, all-time freshman record, to go up 19 on Utah. He’s out of this world

@drantbradley Average age for both teams is very similar. I’d also venture that Miami has a much bigger NIL budget.

The formula for winning a college football national championship: NIL money + use the portal to get a bunch of players who are older than many NFL players.

If you can't enjoy a perennial underdog playing for a championship versus a name brand playing at home, then I present to you that you don't actually like college football.

@dhsutherland I could give many good reasons for them and many good reasons against. But my real point is to just inform that they are very much impacting everyone’s lives in the cost of items. There is no way around that

@dhsutherland I work in the powersports world. So we sell products for Dirt Bikes and SXS. We import products from all over the World, and make many of our own in Utah. All are impacted by tariffs. There truly are next to no retailers and products not impacted by tariffs.

If you think consumers pay tariffs, explain to me why a seller would not raise their prices before their costs are higher? If the consumer would accept a higher price for a product, why wouldn't they charge it?

@dhsutherland I could give lots more nuance as well but. It’s very safe/certain to say tariffs are vastly paid for my importers and at some level passed onto the consumer to maintain margin and viability.

@dhsutherland I work in Ecommerce. When our costs increase we increase our prices to maintain margin so we can stay in business. We didn’t do it before because that would make our products more expensive than competitors products. We waited as long as possible including hedging inventory

@dhsutherland Massively. We even took less margin and worked on other ways to save money. But at the end of the day price increases are passed onto the consumer. This includes the products we make ourselves. As the raw materials are more expensive due to tariffs as well.

All of these NFL teams firing or pushing out their best coaches in ages is bonkers. I can’t fathom what the Ravens, Steelers and Bills are thinking.
