The Kenya Kwanza Government listens and has done justice to the constitutional principle of public participation: 1. 16 per cent VAT on bread REMOVED. 2. VAT on transportation of sugar also REMOVED. 4. NO INCREASE on mobile money transfer. 5. 2.5 per cent Motor Vehicle Tax has also been REMOVED 6. Excise duty on vegetable oil REMOVED 7. Locally manufactured products, including sanitary towels, diapers, phones, computers, tyres and motor cycles, will NOT ATTRACT the Eco Levy 8. Dear Kenyans, I promised you that public participation will not be an exercise in futility, we have listened to you; 1. 16% VAT on bread- removed 2. Excise duty on vegetable oil- removed 3. VAT on transportation of sugar- removed 4. 2.5 per cent Motor Vehicle Tax- removed 5. No increase on taxation on mobile money transfer 6. VAT on financial services and foreign exchange transactions has also been removed 7. Eco Levy on locally manufactured products like sanitary towels, diapers, phones, computers, tyres, and motorcycles- removed 8. VAT registration threshold increased from KSh5 million to KSh8 million, reducing the need for small businesses to register 9. Responsibility for electronic invoicing ETIMS by KRA removed for farmers and small businesses with turnover below Ksh. 1 million 10. Excise duty on alcoholic beverages will be based on alcohol content, not volume; higher alcohol content will attract more duty 11. Pension contributions exemption increased from Ksh. 20-30k per month 12. Excise duty imposed ONLY ON IMPORTED table eggs, onions and potatoes etc to protect local farmers #FinanceBill2024 #Molo #KKSeasonTwo #GOKListens #RutoListens

We are so scared as a society about talking and educating openly about what really happens to women’s bodies after delivery and it is absolutely because we are afraid that with more information more women would forego motherhood. That is a concept people just can’t cope with.
