@AndrewDBailey I don’t think it should have been a red. Suspending the red is absolutely awful tho. Ruins the integrity of the game

@stoolpresidente Absolute insane take. It’s dirty & it’s corrupt when the White House calls up to interfere with FIFA it’s clear what’s happening.

The difference between Belgium and the United States is that in the United States we always want to beat the best. The US Mens team wouldnt have even taken the field if Belgiums best player was unfairly suspended. Apparently Belgium wants the easy way out Very sad European behavior
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨⚠️ OFFICIAL: Belgian Federation statement on Folarin Balogun red card case, saying they are “astonished”. “The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) is astonished by FIFA's decision to declare suspended United States player Folarin Balogun eligible to play in the USA–Belgium match on Monday, 6 July at 5:00 p.m. (Seattle time). FIFA bases its decision on Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. This provision states that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee may decide to suspend the enforcement of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction. However, Article 66.4 of the same FIFA Disciplinary Code clearly provides that a red card (sending-off) automatically results in a suspension for the team's next match, as has been the case for all previous red cards issued during this FIFA World Cup. Furthermore, and irrespective of the above, the decision is in direct contradiction with the provisions of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Competition Regulations, as set out in Article 10.5: "If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team's subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed.” The automatic nature of such a suspension was also explicitly reaffirmed in FIFA World Cup 2026 Circular No. 16, which was distributed to all participating member associations on 12 May 2026. The same rule is reiterated at every FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Coordination Meeting prior to each match and is included in all FIFA World Cup 2026 workshop presentations. ❗️In order to safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport, both at this FIFA World Cup and at future editions of the tournament, the RBFA is investigating all potential options.”

Woman are raped in my city in lanes on a regular basis by men, these men are 99% of the time brown. I’m not saying white men don’t rape too, I’m saying.. in my city, this is a problem. Obviously you don’t know this, so I can appreciate why you have your views but please, reconsider. Because, this man was lurking around nearby the lanes at 2:45am when the clubs close. I believe he was waiting on someone vulnerable.

Sunday 5th July 2:45am roughly, I seen this guy just sitting around the walkabout, nearby some well known lanes. I asked him ‘alright, what are you upto?’ He immediately walked away so I followed. Into a shop where he is allegedly an employee, I smell BS on that one.

@escdestabxlxse Because for a while we were being told if you didn’t agree with every single stance the trans movement had you were a fascist. Trans movement pushed so hard it damaged the entire LGBT’s reputation and now the pendulum’s 180’d

@LisileM @Aljeeves But that’s kinda my point. It’s not had any crisis or a major international news story, not a major export of music that bangs in the U.K. , it’s not big from a geopolitical pov, So the type of things he’d report on, it’s been too stable to have been newsworthy.

You had never heard of Cape Verde? Genuinely? In your *checks notes* 61 years on this planet, you have never heard of the nation of Cape Verde? Is this normal? Or is this not a remarkable showing of ignorance? I'm genuinely curious.
Piers Morgan@piersmorgan

I’d never heard of Cape Verde before this World Cup, now I will never forget them. Congrats to the whole squad, and especially the 40yr-old goalkeeper @vozinhapr whose heroics earned him 20m followers on Instagram. Fabulous story. 👏👏

@RealPatriotsRVQ The country is on it’s fucking arse. You can give me a whole government full of femme presenting, non binary Muslims & as long as we get some solid movement in the right direction I’ll be buzzing. I thought we got bored of this equality of outcome bs.

Absolutely phenomenal piece of investigative journalism. If our home office can’t stop a man entering the country, setting up a chain of businesses to wash his money despite being prosecuted for people smuggling in France what hope have we got?

@Business_Real_ @paxangloceltae This isn’t news in the sense that you mean it’s investigative journalism. It’s not like the police found this out & the bbc are reporting it, this is a brilliant piece of investigative journalism that’s shining a light on this.

@paxangloceltae You're congratulating them on doing what they should actually be doing anyway, reporting the news. I know they normally fail to do it properly, but they are still being paid by the tax payer to do it.

A must watch. This just led the BBC News at Six. It’s got it all - people smuggling, illegal entry, asylum, migrant crime, vape shops/car washes/minimarts, and more. Credit to Sue Mitchell and colleagues for this excellent investigative journalism and public service broadcasting.
MB@paxangloceltae

I’ve said previously and I’ll say again, despite all the criticism the BBC gets (most of which is entirely valid), there are still some pockets of high-quality investigative journalism coming out of our national public service broadcaster - and Sue Mitchell is one of the best.

@emkenobi Internet is honestly a mad place now 10-15 years ago you’d see a bit of racism online in a few places but now you can’t open a football video without endless white supremacist like comments & people talking about left v right stuff

@Perky_43 Between these auditors & the young Kick IRL streamers don’t be surprised if lose freedoms around recording at some point. It’s becoming a real problem and people hate them so much they’ll swallow restrictive legislation up.

A conversation is needed to be had about these so-called 'auditors'. The vast majority of the time they are nothing but agitators & get in the way of people working in public - they also give no privacy to those being dealt with, an example below of when the officer is requiring personal details. I hope to see some form of legislation in the future to combat the rise in these people who have nothing better to do & are there to interfere. We already have offences of obstructing police in the execution of their duties, however, these offences are not set for 2026. I would like to see an updated offence. People like this person below filming the officer have absolutely no need to be involved here, he is an agitator.
