@ethought @PeterWallaceAU That’s not the topic of the post but 84odd% of Australians work for companies and you are the majority shareholder in a company that can afford to pay you $200k then you can pay tax on your company’s profits.

Australians are being taxed to our eyeballs. 47% marginal tax rate and now 47% capital gains tax for many. Yet we have a $ Trillion debt that’s growing, deficits, inflation etc. It’s not incompetence, it’s intentional. Big change is need or Australia won’t survive. It’s coming.

The Albanese government has been asked to “rethink” its capital gains tax overhaul as a top Australian businessman responds to Paul Keating’s dismissal of small business concerns. skynews.com.au/australia-news…

@Her_Nonymous_D Awesome the school proactively suggested these charges. Usually hear stories where they try and downplay the issue because “we don’t want to ruin the boys future”.

harassing messages he keeps sending her from different numbers after she blocks him? Yes to that too. Because this is exactly the kind of behavior people excuse when boys are younger and then act shocked by later. Teach your sons that rejection is not abuse. Teach them that “no” is a complete sentence. Teach them that they are not entitled to someone’s time, attention, body, or affection just because they want it. And most importantly, teach them that anger and humiliation are not excuses to intimidate, threaten, damage property, or scare someone because they didn’t get their way. Too many girls are taught how to stay safe while too many boys are never taught how to handle rejection respectfully.

Got a call from my stepdaughter’s school today telling me her ex-boyfriend broke her glasses because he’s angry she ended the relationship. Apparently he’s been struggling to accept the breakup and decided damaging her property was an appropriate response. The school asked if I wanted reimbursement for the glasses. Absolutely!!! I already sent my stepdaughter money to order a new pair because she needs them now, but he will still be paying every cent back. Then the school officer asked if I wanted to move forward with a property damage citation. Again, absolutely. And when they brought up the threatening and…..

ROWAN DEAN | "We have now entered the beginning of the end for the Albanese government." This budget has been received with all the enthusiasm of a three-day-old sushi roll sitting in a sunny suburban shop window in the middle of summer. This government no longer has any credibility. It has sacrificed its reputation and its longevity on the electoral bonfire of its own ideological vanities. Article | spectator.com.au/2026/05/hubris…

@AntonioFreePR Now you can sit em down and explain the value of a progressive tax system, why passive income should be taxed at least the same as money that is physically earned, the benefits society gets from this great system and how bad it is when eroded or rorted.

Here’s the problem, Albo. Many of us sat down with our teenagers and tried to teach them the value of financial discipline: work hard, don’t waste money, think long term, and build a future by investing in the stock market — even if it’s something as simple as buying ETFs through CommSec. As parents, we felt proud when they actually listened and started seeing the rewards of patience, discipline and compounding returns. Then, you come out nowhere, imposing a 30% CGT floor that effectively destroys one of the key wealth-creation tools previous generations used to build financial security. These are not rich kids or millionaires. They’re ordinary young Australians trying to get ahead, save for a home, a family or simply some stability in life. That’s why so many of us are disappointed in you, Albanese. You’ve whacked the very generation you claim to care about and you’ve made their parents look stupid. #ASX #Ausbiz

Aussie farmers have had enough — and now they’re fighting back. Imagine strangers turning up and telling you they’ll rip through YOUR land with 80m towers and transmission lines. The land you work and call home. We went to Gundy to give these Aussies a voice. Karl Weekly, 5pm.

@PaulineHansonOz Your buddy Trump’s foray into the Middle East is literally setting our economy on fire and hurting the “Aussie battlers” you purport to love and your biggest priority is gender wars legislation. You are a joke lady and if we had decent reporters everyone would know it.

When Parliament returns, One Nation will reintroduce our bill to acknowledge biological reality. If this had been supported in the last Parliament, the injustice of the Giggle v Tickle case would never have happened. One Nation will always fight for the rights of women to stand up against trans ideology.

The Australian government is going to take 47% of my income and my capital gains and give it to someone who doesn’t want to work. And this will make it easier for me to buy a house.

This week I have been hearing stories from small businesses, start-ups and self starters that embody the Australian spirit. They want to take the risk, get ahead, and change our country for the better. They start with nothing, and now the Labor government wants to tax their aspiration. Any Australian who wants to take the risk, be a self starter, and turn their dream into reality should be commended, not hit with another new tax. That’s why we’ll repeal Labor’s small business and start-up tax. How would these new taxes impact you? Share your story at notthetax.com.au

This is the BEST troll of @AlboMP ever 🔥 Business owners posting about their “silent business partner” who takes 47% of their profits… and doesn’t have to lift a finger! A perfect protest against Labor’s capital gains tax grab. Taxation is theft. Libertarians will never vote for tax hikes - they all hurt families and businesses. @LibertariansNSW

So its like this. You work for 45 years, you buy a house and pay it off. Meantime you buy some shares and some other property to help pay the way in retirement. The whole way through you had to pay tax BEFORE you put money into these investments. But according to @tanya_plibersek, your kids should be paying tax again when you die. Ponder that. Why save? Why put money away? Why take care of your own family? Because people like Plibersek and @AlboMP just want to take it from you.
Valerie 🤌🏻@AussieVal10

It’s painful listening to these grubby, money grabbing Labor Ministers. It’s a Death Tax and you’ll be paying 30% tax on assets you purchased after already being taxed. Make it make sense.

@BobBurn97207272 Who's Australia? In 1990 my mum worked full time, petrified of losing her job, barely keeping a roof over our rented heads & I paid 1/2 my part time job pay as board which contributed to food & bills. We didn't do things like holidays because we didn't have "change left over".

One income. One home. Four kids. Annual holidays. Change left over. That was Australia in 1990. Today two incomes can’t even cover the rent. Same country. Something went very wrong

@SimonCotter62 A progressive tax system built the middle class. But yeah let’s keep flattening it so we can completely obliterate it and decimate the poor. Good thinking.

The best thing the govt could do is raise the GST to 15%. Tax spending not saving and wealth creation. Simple.

Here's an idea - let's pass a law that says if you're going to build a big data center, you have to also build enough solar panels and/or wind turbines to power it. I call it the "Bring your own damn grid" proposal.

I reckon if we called an election right now. Labor would be gone. All credibility is lost. You can’t make a load of promises, break them and then lie about the reasons you broke them and expect people to respect you. #auspol
