Dismissing EVs as a "grift for wealthy white people" reveals you haven't done you're homework, don't have experience with EVs, and don't recognize the long term trend, which is clear. We can probably agree the federal incentives, tax credits, mandates, subsidies, etc, in favor of EVs put an unfair burden on working class folks and was a form of ideologically driven regressive taxation. But dismissing EVs wholesale as a grift tells me you're missing the boat, not seeing the whole picture.
