American Council on Science and Health. Science and consumer advocates since 1978. We separate facts from myths and debunk junk science.

Hello, it’s Ana; the gal behind and in front of the camera lens at @ACSHorg . 👋 Let me tell you, hitting record when you’re the spokesperson to skewer misinformation is another level of vulnerability. I’ve gone after health fads, gimmicky diets, and more questionable TikTok trends than I can count, which, to be fair, probably hasn’t earned me brownie points with Gen Z’s self-proclaimed wellness gurus. Still, it’s worth it. Because with every video I put out, I see how much clear, evidence-based science actually matters. If you’ve watched our videos, shared our content, or followed our work, you already know what we do best: cut through the noise to deliver science you can trust: plainly and honestly. That’s where our $26 for 2026 campaign comes in. 🧵

"Responsible" social media moderation is censorship. Disagree? Join the debate tomorrow. Details below!

We expose health scares. The video below shows just what that looks like. But skewering misinfo is expensive. That’s why we launched the $26 for 26 Campaign— your $26 gift instantly becomes $52. Help us keep the truth coming. Donate here ⬇️ form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/american-…

Drug addiction and physical dependence are NOT synonyms. This is a common lie the media tells about prescription opioids. Then really sick people—like your grandmother with terminal cancer—are denied pain medicine. Evil. Dr. Lynn Webster explains.⬇️

Another wicked good discussion from @ACSHorg! The practical humane public policy argument, what is medical, from Dr Webster deserves more attention. youtu.be/-PMeBANkl48?si…

People say harm reduction is a fool's errand. Making drug use safer just enables bad behavior—period. Addiction medicine specialist @LynnRWebsterMD isn't so sure. We should fairly study tools like safe injection sites before dismissing them, he says. Full episode below. ⬇️

'Fossil fuels, pesticides and food processing have dramatically improved living standards around the globe. This may be a controversial claim, but it’s difficult to dispute,' writes @camjenglish. 'Yet this is not the message that comes through when certain academic voices talk about these innovations or the industries that produced them. Consider the curious New England Journal of Medicine (@NEJM) perspective from the @UCSF Center to End Corporate Harm. The article erroneously brands fossil fuels, processed foods, synthetic chemicals and prescription opioids—a diverse array of useful tools when reasonably used—as “corporate vectors” of disease, no different than cigarettes. The framing is overly simplistic and ideological, collapsing distinct tools and risks into a cartoonish conspiracy of corporate villainy.'
