If you're a serious film producer doing a documentary for Netflix, shouldn't you cover all sides of the issue? Not if your paymaster is a billionaire philanthropist from the metals industry campaigning to ban plastics. Then lying is an order. #PlasticDetox thefirebreak.org/p/the-plastic-…

@kinek_kirin My goal is to make NGOs, scientists and activists think twice about taking dark foundation funding. If they could stop and think beforehand of their hypocrisy, then my job is done. They do stop, they do think ... but they still take the money. Nobody said integrity was easy.

@zaruk What sucks a lot is that because nobody updates their narratives, they're still trapped in the "Industry lobby most powerful", and if you try to show NGO cash flow, you look insane.

When I was a lobbyist, the rule was "Follow the money". Then, industry controlled the narrative. Today most issue campaign money is flowing from foundations with billions to splash on their activist programmes. No transparency, no rules (while industry is trapped in a tight box).
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

How much of the anti-plastics research is funded by #PlasticFearComplex special interests? @zaruk concludes: Most of it. When a Lancet-sponsored report's Declaration of Interests section runs 95 lines, then none of the authors are "independent" researchers thefirebreak.org/p/feeding-a-wo…

"The bias was breathtaking." Part 3 of my #PlasticFearComplex looks at how the Minderoo Foundation could fund a propaganda film called the #PlasticDetox to advance the political goals of its billionaire founder. My film review was harsher than their lies and fearmongering.
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

Andrew Forrest's Minderoo Foundation funded the fear-laden lobbumentary, the #PlasticDetox. @zaruk has reviewed the film and was not impressed. Millions were spent to advance lawsuits, spread fear and lies and confuse the public. And it was poorly produced thefirebreak.org/p/the-plastic-…

"The plastics industry has a choice. Either start to play as dirty as their self-interested adversaries who are willing to lie, cheat and delegitimize a competing industry, or just stop producing plastics." Part 2 of the #PlasticFearComplex looks at the big money and dirty tricks
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

Fortescue's billionaire founder, Andrew Forrest, is using his Minderoo Foundation to advance the #PlasticFearComplex. @zaruk shows his dirty tactics, buying off scientists like Philip Landrigan, funding NGO front groups to pay lawyers to sue adversaries... thefirebreak.org/p/feeding-a-wo…

Part 1 looks at 3 media articles highlighting the lack of evidence, poor methodology and unjustified conclusions in the recent slew of microplastics studies. But the reality is even with the media challenges won't be enough to stop the Plastic Fear Complex. Part 2 out tomorrow
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

The #PlasticFearComplex is a juggernaut. @zaruk starts a 3-part series looking at how bad research against plastics will prevail given their unlimited funding and emotional force. Part 1 looks at how even the media waking up to the nonsense won't be enough thefirebreak.org/p/microfinding…

Science is about challenging our consensus beliefs and hypotheses. The IARC process is about protecting their beliefs and creating a consensus. They control the discussions and try to cover up any dissent. But what if a panel expert decides to speak out? risk-monger.com/2026/03/12/sli…

Pt 2 of my #SlimeGate talc exposé is up. IARC's third talc monograph reclassified talc as probably carcinogenic even though the evidence was similar to the second monograph. There was dissent among the working group experts. IARC didn't report the dissent. risk-monger.com/2026/03/12/sli…

@the_firebreak @zaruk You're right about Calley loving to embellish his record, but lying is an even more appropriate term. However, he does currently have a job as a government advisor. His term as an SGE expired but then @SecKennedy gave him another full-time role. x.com/DrMario1975/st…
Dr. Mario@DrMario1975

Calley caught in a BIG lie: "So I, as a lobbyist on the conservative side of the aisle 15 years ago around this town here, you know, was saying any infringement on the food companies was an attack on the free market. That was BS" "Well, Calley Means was never a lobbyist, ever!"

Perhaps the biggest embarrassment in the Trump administration has been the influence wielded by the Means siblings. They lie openly and unashamedly. @zaruk notes how Calley is still claiming to be a government advisor. He loves to embellish his record. thefirebreak.org/p/into-the-bel…

MAHA leaders who were once deplatformed are now running the platform. ... Except maybe Del Bigtree ... he seems to have once again been deplatformed as MAHA splitters try to mainstream.
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

How did the MAHA leadership spin the Trump Executive Order on glyphosate to the party faithful and fearful? MAHA-watcher @zaruk attended an internal MAHA Action Media Hub event and learnt a lot about the future of the movement. thefirebreak.org/p/into-the-bel…

Stop thinking that high-paid health activists actually care about your health. They care about winning their campaigns (...and getting paid) The people fighting against them (the ex-smokers, the consumer groups, the vape shop owners) deserve respect for standing up to the zealots
THE FIREBREAK@the_firebreak

Anti-nicotine activists know that increasing taxes on vapes and nicotine pouches will lead to black markets, unsafe contraband and more people returning to smoking = more deaths. Not only do they not care, they'll likely use that in their future campaigns. thefirebreak.org/p/taxing-consu…

My latest #SlimeGate series looks at how IARC changed their methodology (rather than presenting new evidence) to ensure that talc finally got a carcinogenic verdict Part 1 shows how the three talc monographs differ and questions IARC's scientific integrity risk-monger.com/2026/03/02/sli…

In the coming weeks I'll release a new #SlimeGate series on how IARC moved the goalposts for its 3 talc monographs. How IARC moved from Group 3 to 2B to 2A without significant new research shows how the agency relies more on special interests than science. risk-monger.com/2026/03/02/sli…

Reading Casey Means' declaration of interests to Congress, I was curious about her stock portfolio. While most on the list are exactly what the US Surgeon General should invest in (...?), her shares in Baidu worry me. I'd do an article on her, but she'll get bored and quit soon.

Here is a section from Casey Means' newsletter (that's rather full of grift). Her advice goes beyond medical orthodoxy. She'll be the next US Surgeon General. If you are having a hard time accepting this, maybe you should go out and talk to the trees. caseymeans.com/learn/newslett…
