You see an app demo. Beautiful GUI. Intuitive design. Appears to solve real problems. You ask: What's the tech stack? "Dev" says "I don't know". Because it's just frontend. No real data. Vibe coded with #AI. Dev wants to integrate across enterprise.
How do you respond?

Yes! If you're Windows, you MUST:
> swap File Explorer with Filepilot.
filepilot.tech
> swap Task Manager with TaskSlinger.
taskslinger.net
Both are superior, lightweight, ultra fast counterparts.
I'm on Windows bc gamedev, but I avoid Microsoft apps.

@FrankLesniak Same. I'm actually long time pro Windows admin / developer / user and I'm glad to see they are finally starting to listen again.

@hexawyz @davepl1968 Web cannot have a designer? You obviously never used Dreamweaver with classic ASP back in the day.

@davepl1968 I disagree. People do web, and web does not and cannot have a designer, and people don’t really complain about that.
Puting controls at arbitrary places on a in designer does not produce good layouts and neither does basic web stuff.
Then Avalonia and Uno exist if you want xplat.
English

If I had to guess, I'd think what people really want is the simplicity of laying out controls on a VB6 form combined with a runtime that works on Mac and Linux.

@MatthewSch90143 @4thOfJuly365 I got that a lot growing up. We'll all be a lot better off when we can stop associating achievement with a skin color.

@4thOfJuly365 Name TWO demographics in which, if a young man within it attempts to better himself, his peers will mock him and tell him to stop "acting White"?
No credit given for half an answer.

I say that as someone who does play videogames

People are way too conditioned to everything being "free" (however it's not free, you are paying for it with your data).
If you want high quality, open source, privacy respecting alternatives, stop complaining when they *optionally* ask for money.
I will be buying Brave Origin.

Archaeology keeps surprising the critics. The Pool of Bethesda, the Pilate inscription, and the Caiaphas family tomb all line up exactly with the New Testament details.
Every new dig strengthens the case that the Gospel writers were reporting real events in real places. The ground itself keeps testifying!
