@TheFigen_ Completely agree. I test my gratitude against another measure: time. We tend to be rarely satisfied with the pace of time. It's always too fast or too slow, or the wrong time all together. We wish it was the past or sometime in the future. Being okay with now is the hard work.

A few weeks ago I bought a nature reserve as it was at risk of being turned into housing. I’ve been massively stressed about it ever since as there’s so much that I need to do to maintain it. Seeing a photo of these deer that someone took on the reserve makes it all worthwhile.

@TerrellSocialst It's hard to blame people though. The US has created a culture of independence and isolation. It takes a lot more energy than usual to empathize with others in this system imo.

This is the gist of America, people don't care until it happens to them only then will they understand. America is not a place where people tend to put themselves in other people's shoes to understand
