@Oneepstein That was probably the main reason they didn’t go in the 1st place because they didn’t have that extra money to leave and pay for a good coach. All in all this isn’t going to matter in a few years when it’s 2 conferences and everyone else moving again.

Torts having a “history” makes the $100k easy to understand. Similar penalties have been for more egregious issues… doesn’t feel like that.

There aren't many people with a better understanding of the Knights-- both strengths and weaknesses-- than Bruce Cassidy. He knows every injury, every player flaw. The team has every right in the universe to block him from using that knowledge against them. Them's the breaks.

If it's indeed true that the Golden Knights and John Tortorella didn't make themselves available last night because they were upset with the league at the Brayden McNabb suspension, that's a Jr. B level of maturity right there.

@TDChrisG Or he just gave his guys an easy “us against the world” reason to take it up a notch and REALLY band together.

Tortorella has done a great job in making his return to coaching not about him. He's given the players a ton of credit and made sure to deflect any credit he's received back to the players. That's all been changed by skipping out on a three-minute press conference.

@TDChrisG The issue you are avoiding is that he did not have to be imposed a major. The rule is if a Major is imposed, it’s a game misconduct. The ref has the discretion to impose the Major though, and could have called a minor.

Folks, the rule is right there. Did McNabb interfere with a player? Yes. Was said player injured, yes. I don't like the process of getting to the call. But it's the right call.

@SinBinVegas “Judging by the outcome”… is the key statement. If Poehling doesn’t have a “history” of concussion issues he likely pops back up and keeps playing. No call was made on the ice… play goes on. If it’s a penalty for interference then so be it… but that was BS after the fact.

Here's the replay of the hit by Brayden McNabb on Ryan Poehling that resulted in a major and a game misconduct. It's hard to argue the hit is not late, considering where the puck is at time of contact. There's absolutely an argument against it being a truly violent hit aside from judging the outcome. Could have easily been 2 minutes instead of 5 + game.

Torts, correctly, goes to the super early goalie pull, and just liked VGK have done all game long, they fail to execute. ANA always has players moving, creating traffic, and turnovers, and they did it once again to bang home the empty netter. 3-0 ANA, series tied in 3 minutes.

@BParry19 @jasonkredline Sad what has happened to basketball… but football is the only way back and the available resources need to be put there to HOPEFULLY lift both programs into a more favorable situation. Not saying it will, but it’s the only play at this point.

@jasonkredline UNLV basketball has been a disaster for how many years though & prior to Harp taking over. This is where I think the disconnect is with you on the subject. UNLV has reached a level in football under his watch that nobody thought they would. He’s the best AD we’ve had in ages.

I have mixed feelings about Harper On the one hand, what has happened with UNLV Football is great, and Harper has done marvelously helping breathe life into the program. On the other hand unlv basketball a disaster under Harper. The program is stagnant, the Pastner hiring process and result were a total mess, Harper and the athletic department lied about Kevin Krugers contract situation and wasted millions of dollars, and the hoops program is probably at its lowest point in school history. As for the realignment saga, time will tell. I disagreed with what Harper and the school did. I will forever think we should have killed the Mountain West off, which we were capable of doing. There are obviously a lot of parties involved in how we handled that besides Harper, from the President, to the board or regents, so it’s unfair to rest that entire situation on his feet. They claim they’re doing this to join a power conference (the big 12). I have my doubts that this has a positive outcome, but we will see. Ultimately Harper’s tenure will hhave good, it will have bad and its ultimate legacy is yet to be seen. #LETSRUN
