@Slubmeow @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation You're the one who's been name calling and trashing for no reason when I just pointed out you were wrong lmao. I think you're just talking to yourself now.
I'm gonna go enjoy the rest of my night now and let you do you. Maybe you'll learn some modesty or something
English

@OnlyAnApple @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation I'd like to see U try midget, seems like someone's emotions are taking over
English

@OnlyAnApple @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation Cause I'm not a pooron, d2 story is over champ, but let's keep kicking the dead dog
English

@Slubmeow @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation Never got Xivu Arath's story, you know, one of the three hive gods? Savathun was still an enemy we had to kill because she was in no way an ally after The Final Shape. Started an entire new saga after the original to move deeper into the lore, etc. etc.
You're the goofy ass here
English

@OnlyAnApple @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation I have 10k+ hours on console lmao and almost 7k on PC. Shut yo goofy ass up white boy. The main story is legit over, the only thing that we don't know about is the nine and some other small villains which no one cares about.

Many Bungie devs reportedly had no idea Destiny 2 was about to stop receiving future updates. According to several reports, many employees were still actively working on new content when the announcement was made public, and most of the studio learned of it at the same time as players.
The reports claim Bungie leadership had already decided internally to end active development earlier this year, while some teams continued building future Destiny 2 content.
Bungie confirmed that Destiny 2 will remain online and playable after its final major update in June 2026, but new live-service development for the game is ending after almost 10 years.
They will focus in Marathon, a game that lost almost all its players and is now even more hated by Bungie fans. The game has its days counted.

English

@AceOClubs81 @Stella_V69 @GamesRadar Leadership had them in a chokehold the entire second half of development after Pete Parsons inflated the company's value with "incubation projects" that didn't work out besides marathon (which is limping right now).
Not dogging on marathon, good game. But that's the truth.
English

@Stella_V69 @GamesRadar No it’s the hiring of given people that clearly don’t truly understand gamers

English

@Slubmeow @MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation Story isn't over by a longshot. If y believe that then you haven't paid attention to any of the stuff building in the background or read a single lore entry at all. the minimum you need to do is look at flavour text for armour and weapons to see this.
English

@MikeMumbelz @Pirat_Nation Let's destiny die FFS, it's story is over stop dragging the dead dog in the dirt. Either they focus solely on marathon or die as a studio. They are done for a studio that has been making games for countless years
English

@Dagxtor @Vortex12314 @Cynnthetic @Dexerto There's still so much more story to the game that we haven't gotten and new plotlines they've set up but had no chance to develop. The Final Shape was an end to a saga, not the game entirely.
English

@OnlyAnApple @Vortex12314 @Cynnthetic @Dexerto That expansion literally closed the entire storyline of D1 and D2, the big bad was defeated, we had an ending to everything. People were already tired of Destiny 2 and wanted to leave but that ending was their anchor to keep playing. It's Avengers Endgame again.
English

@artificial0wl Haven't played Marathon but I've seen enough of it to think it's worth its weight. It can't be compared to a game with more than a decade of support.
However, when they pull devs, end of life said decade long game and decide to lay off the rest? Yeah, fuck them.
English

@Dagxtor @Vortex12314 @Cynnthetic @Dexerto I think most people figured that was where the game would dwindle and a D3 would come into play but obviously not.
English

@OnlyAnApple @Vortex12314 @Cynnthetic @Dexerto Yeah It was because most people left after final shape, the story concluded and they felt good to leave the game.
English

I haven't played Marathon but I've seen enough to think that it's a good game that deserves to continue. However at the same time I think what Bungie execs have done by pulling devs from Destiny to work on this game and end-of-life D2 is bullshit.

Cannot believe @Aztecross went here but man…Destiny has an incredible community willing to fight. Guardians really do make their own fate. #WeWantDestiny3

@Pickled_Rage @Zavallr I don't think there's any big announcement with the knowledge that there is no D3 greenlit for development.
Bungie as a studio needs a rework from the top down, and sony needs to invest majorly for that to happen - it's literally the only course of action.
English

@Zavallr On the other hand, they know how volatile the community is. We've already seen such garbage posts from people who need an anger outlet over their long-beloved game coming to an end. They have probably told their devs not to say anything so that they don't get dragged into shit.
English

@JDay2345 @SkyAsassino Pete Parsons out, executive/management out. Bring back the devs who made the game we know and love, not what we have today because of horrid money grubbing leadership.
I think there is SOME of the dev team to blame, however. They still had a role to play in this.
English

@OnlyAnApple @SkyAsassino I don’t blame the devs at all, especially when Bungie had a moron like Pete Parsons running the company into the ground. New leadership has been needed for years.
English

no.
Destiny IS destiny because of bungie and the tiger engine
ⒿⒷ➂@JB3_Xbox
I’d love a Destiny 3 that wasn’t made by Bungie. They’ve lost the plot.
English

@SkyAsassino How about we keep the devs and give the idiots who made all the brain dead decisions the boot?
English

@WandrOf4bdnLand @LUCKYY10P @ShitpostRock2 The people who made this game what it is would come back in a heartbeat if they could, though Bungie would need to be reworked structurally from management to leads to make that work. The amount of investment it would take on sony's part to do that would be the limiter.
English

@OnlyAnApple @LUCKYY10P @ShitpostRock2 Yeah I totally agree if it was possible to get D1 Bungie leads back, I just don't think that's ever gonna happen, and current Bungie just won't cut it
English

Even if Bungie started development on Destiny 3 right now, it probably wouldn’t release for another 3–5 years at best. And with Bungie struggling to generate enough revenue from their current games, how exactly are they supposed to survive until then?
It's over lol
