STOP THE HOP? Milwaukee Alderman to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy: "I am asking you to remove an albatross that has been hanging around our necks for far too long now. You did not put it there, but neither did the taxpayers of Milwaukee."
The streetcar has been a drain on taxpayers from the beginning, with no end in sight. My good friend and colleague @Vanwanggaard and I are also asking @SecDuffy to release Milwaukee from its grant obligations, paving the way to finally eliminate the boondoggle.
Cincinnati's long-abandoned subway tunnels are the stuff of daydreams for urbanists, historians and architects. Now the city is advancing an effort to repurpose them. "At the heart of this effort is a big idea... can we create something extraordinary beneath our streets?”
This is roughly what I hope LA's urban core Metro will look like by the time I die
i think having small friendly interactions with strangers is so important for humanity.
